Everyone’s posting their stats, and yet no one is chancing.

Now that’s funny.

Everyone’s posting their stats, and yet no one is chancing.

Now that’s funny.

i dunno. even if there’s no chancing - you get a general look at who’s applying and then can gauge it yourself as to where you stand.

^ I agree. Shame there’s not more bio/chem/pharm majors posting their stats. It would be nice to take a peek at the competition ;)

I’m not trying to be bias or anything but I only know of the engineering and science chances of acceptances so…

Initial:
You won’t get into to Caltech, Harvey Mudd (I don’t think they accept transfers…), Stanford, or SLO.
If you’re grades increase after this fall, you have a good chance at Cal and UCLA (they love grade trend). You’re in at UCSD, Pomona, and UCI.
UCSB is unpredictable and I don’t know about USC.

Wwlink:
You won’t get into Cal and you may not get into UCSB. But you should get into everywhere else. If you were interested more in UCSD, I would finish that IGETC.

Dominicfhk:
If you can increase your GPA by the end of fall, you’re in everywhere is my guess. And no I don’t know about UCD’s mech eng program. Keep in mind that UCSD is impacted, so you’ll need to at the minimum maintain your GPA. Any decrease and you won’t get in at UCSD or UCLA.

Nabilesmail:
If you get to a 3.9, you’re in everywhere. Think about applying to UCSD as bioengineering (2nd or 3rd in the nation).

Oh my God, sorry lmendoza, I have to point this out because it’s my biggest pet peeve.

The word is “biased,” guys, not “bias.” Let me use it in a sentence for you.

Incorrect: “Gosh, Terry, I wish you’d stop acting so bias.”

That’s wrong, and I’m seeing it everywhere. Absolutely everywhere. It’s like our entire education system has collapsed overnight or something.

Correct: “Gosh, Terry, I wish you’d stop acting so BIASED.”

Same goes for the word “prejudice.” You can’t “be prejudice” – you can, however, be “prejudiced.”

That is all. Please fix yourself. Thank you.

GPA: 3.8
Pre-reqs: Will be done by Spring
IGETC: Will be done by Spring

UCD - Econ
UCSD - Econ
And maybe Cal Poly SLO for Business Administration.

Thanks for the help!

PS - I applied for TAG with the UCD, UCI, and UCSD, but I was 4 units short of the 45 transferrable required…I had applicable AP test scores, with those I’d be much over 45, but I’m not sure if they’ll count them.

thank you for ya gramar krusade, GTorrent

Can you tell me what are the chances of getting in University of Michigan - Ann arbor CoE in ME/EE ?
Please please…

when did you got your decision for winter and when did you applied ??
Thank a lot…

@MichiganKBlue Wouldn’t you rather go to UCLA? =P BTW this is the UC (University of California) forum.

haha, wanderers are mildly cute.

i was wondering - is there anyone that is a english major, who hasn’t posted their chances in this thread (for whatever reason), and is applying to UCI? i just sort of want to see how many applicants for this coming year. i keep getting various pieces of info that english is impacted; others dispute and say english is NOT impacted. again - i’m talking about Irvine; LA, Berk, i know is impacted.

my bad…
It’s very good University but good GPA require (i guess) 3.8 will be not enough…
srry about that for posted my UM-Ann arbor chances… srry

Thanks for the reply imendoza. Those are pretty much the predictions I made about myself also.

LOOOOLLLLLLLLL GTARRANT!
a big one for me is 10’ instead of '10.

Hi everyone! I’m new to CC and this is my first post.

I was wondering if anyone could chance me for these schools: UCLA, UCB, UCSB, UCD, UCI, USC, UCSD, Pepperdine

my first choice is definitely USC

Current school: UCR

first choice major is business at all the schools with business as a major

second choice is Economics for every school with a business major and a first choice to those that do not (ucsd, etc)

second choice at USC is international relations or econ (still deciding)

I will be at junior level standing in fall 2011

Stats:
GPA: 3.666 (due to a C in philosophy) GPA most likely will go up
completed 70 quarter units so far before fall 2010

Prereqs: all completed for USC, UCLA and UCB prereqs will be completed by spring

EC: won an english essay competition (essay published), investment club, national society of collegiate scholars,

anything else i need to add to chance?

also, will these schools take into account that my 3.66 is from 1 C in a philosophy course that has nothing to do with my major? i have all As and 1 B after that.

Any tips that I can use this school year to boost my chances (USC!) ?

THANKS!!!

Hello everyone,
I was wondering what are my chances of getting into UCB, UCLA, UCD, and UCSD as a Political Science major.

3.75 gpa. The only non-A I got was a C in Spanish that I took as a junior in high school. We had a program where you received college credit for taking courses in high school. After graduation from high school, I have gotten only 4.0’s
IGETC-Done by Spring 2011. I only have one speech class left.

Overcoming major illness that struck first semester of college.

@mohamizm you had a major illness?

No, Pinoiako, that entire sentence was a typo.

Someone chance me for UCSD? It’s what I’m freaking out about the most.
I’m also applying to UCB and UCLA but I know it’s a HUGE reach so I won’t be standing in awe when I get my rejection letter. Also, UCI, but I’m not worried about that one. Should I be?

Major: Psychology
Transferrable GPA: 3.5, may be 3.6 by Fall. It’s mostly dragged down by a C I got while still in High School and C in an elective I didn’t even need(if this matters). Got two Fs my first summer session but repeated them.
Prereqs: Done by Spring for every UC except UCSD. But I should only be missing two, one which isn’t even offered at my cc. Should I hunt it down? I’ve heard UCSD is lenient about Pre-reqs.
Personal Statement: I’ve been working on it like crazy. I’m fairly confident I can convey why I initially achieved below what I’m capable of now. Let’s assume it will be an 8/10 or above.
ECs: 1. Related to Psych(mostly research), but I just started.
Work: Minimal.

Try tagging for UC Davis as your possible safety school. They have a good psych program. Im a psych major too. Applying to UCLA or UC Davis.

If you plan to go on to be a clinical or neuropsychologist UCLA, UC Davis, UC Irvine, and UCSD are better bets than Berkeley. Berkeley treats psychology as a social science discipline while the four UC’s I mentioned does psychology from a medical standpoint.

Very strong and moving. I tied in all my EC with my major choice. Has been reviewed by a professional writer.

My comments

Upward trend of grades. 4.0’s last two semesters and will have 4.0’s these next two semesters.

My gpa is above the average admitted gpa for the major (3.51) but I will not complete all prerequisites, how much will this affect my chances of getting in?
