chance me plz:)

Just so you all know, most people that frequently post in UC Transfers probably won’t chance you because it’s May and they just found out where they got into school and don’t really care about the next class.

You’d have more luck asking specific questions in a thread, actually trying to research past student stats that are comparable to yours, or looking up general information in the forums on what schools realistically expect you to have finished for the best chance of acceptance. By asking people to chance you, you’re bypassing all that work and expecting other people to figure it out for you.

Hi, I’m currently at a CC, My gpa dropped to 2.96 this Summer. I’m Anthropology major.
I’ve done over 100 hours volunteer a hospital, I taught kids for free, Did some excavation on an Ice Age Mammoth, I was in the Red Cross and Anthropology Clubs at school. This Summer i’ll be doing Volunteer work in a less fortunate country.
What are my Chances at UCD, UCSC,UCSB,UCB,UCLA, or even USC.
Fall quarter hasn’t started but if I get As in my classes i’ll be at a 3.17.

uchope, the average accepted GPA for anthro transfers for UCLA in 2010 was 3.57. So you can essentially rule out UCLA and Cal, and perhaps USC. You should be fine for UCSC and UCSB, UCD being on target as well.

Hey guys. I’m going to apply to CAL, UCLA, and USC, USF, and Santa Clara U as a transfer this fall. I am going into college with 32 credits from local universities and colleges. I will be attending a top 75 four year private school in the Midwest.

MAJOR: UCB - political science UCLA - economics USC - business administration
GPA: 3.5 (after first semester 3.6667)
UNITS: 63 by May 2012
EXTRACURRICULARS: A TON - church, volunteering, student government, jobs, leadership programs (one at Georgetown), and the list goes on
PERSONAL STATEMENT: Very good, about my struggles with ADHD without medication and how I have persevered. The other is about my political involvement with the Obama 08 campaign and how much I learned from my 6th month internship.
PREREQUISITES: All done

My DREAM school is Cal. That’s where I want to go and I would go there in a second if I get in. Either way I’m headed to Cali next year Please be honest with my chances!!

Any advice would be awesome!
I’m hoping to get into UCLA for Fall '12 as a Psychology major.
Current School: CCC
GPA: 3.98 (All A’s and A+'s except for ONE shudder A- this past Spring Quarter)
Work: 25 hrs per week (paying my way through school is important to me)
Coursework: Will have all pre-req’s and IGETC done. Taking 17-19 units per quarter. One class each quarter has been an honors class.
EC’s: Past year–Honors Program, Participant in the Honors council, volunteer tutor
EC’s I will be adding this year: Tutor for my CCC, Starting a club, joining a club, and joining Phi Theta Kappa this fall. (took me a while to figure out which clubs at school I was interested in)

Will the EC’s I’m adding be too late? Are my chances strong with what I have?

I’m also considering applying to UCB, but I will have barely any psychology prereqs done. Would it be wasting my time to apply to UCB as well if I don’t have the prereqs completed? I spoke with a rep at my school and she made it clear to me that more “well rounded” students would be preferred…

One more thing! Are there any programs/classes offered at UCLA just for transfer students? I would love to be able to meet other transfers relatively easily!! Also, does the school offer any help in finding a roommate? I want to live in an apartment but I don’t know anyone I would live with down there.

Thanks for the help! :)

why did you resurrect this thread when there is already a 2012 thread.
