Our class is also using Stokstad. We’re about halfway through chapter 29 now but we’ve skipped every chapter dealing with non-Western art. Are your classes also skipping non-Western art??
Also, I accidentally bought REA’s Crash Course Ap Art History instead of the regular Comprehensive AP Art history. Do I need to buy that one instead or am I fine with the crash course?

We’re doing rococo now

AP Art History test is coming up soon!! How’s everybody doing?

Cram time like a boss

same…so what kind of frqs do you guys think we’ll have on the test tomorrow? seems like no one is talking t_t

EGGS.

I feel ok on the MC, think I can get at least 80% there. Just concerned about the killer 30-minute FRQs, oh man…

best of luck to everyone (:

Good luck everyone!

Cramming now…I can do really well or really terrible depending on what artworks are on the MC and FRQ :P

What do you guys think about the test? It seems the FRQ this year simply copy from 2005 question. College Board people is running out of creative questions…haha

I thought it was ridiculously easy. The only hard essay part was the one on technology because that kinda threw me for a loop because i studied nothing past pop art, but I made up some stuff about Cindy Sherman fighting women’s representation on TV and her feminism.

I thought the technology question was really easy.

I made stuff up for a couple of FRQ haha but I think it went okay besides that.

I definitely agree about the tehchnology question! I was feeling pretty great about all the previous questions, ready for the final one, and didnt have a clue how to answer it. I panicked and ended up writing about Lichtenstein’s “Ohh…Alright,” which isn’t from the right time period! I haven’t studied anything past pop art, so that threw me a bit. Otherwise, I feel I did pretty good, so that’s a relief

Would you guys consider Manet’s Olympia a narrative? The word is so broad, but I said that it reveals social class and the corruption of prostitution in society.

I’m so mad at myself, I panicked and thought it meant like a continuous narrative, so I did Last Judgement of Hu-Nefer and Muybridge’s Galloping Horse. Olympia was a nice choice though.

Lets see, I goofed up on the last long one. I chose the sistine chapel fresco and Hogarth’s Marriage a la mode, which was made around the 1750s, 50 years before 1800s…

Overall I did fine however.

Mixed up Chartres/Notre Dame on my 2nd essay, and had no idea who the artist of one of the works was (where you had to name them) but other than that I think I did fine.

I did Gentileschi’s Judith Slaying Holofernes and Rodin’s Burghers of Calais for the narrative question, and I loved it! Also, I did Chuck Close and how he gridded out photos of his paintings for the technology question. Thoughts? He was the only post-1960 artist I could think of haha.

I put Giotto for the unknown artist work, what about you all?

I thought it was easy, and like for the DBQ I was screaming out in victory because I made so many references to the artist the night before. At least if I did bad though, there’s a high curve? The first FRQ was bad, though. I think I wrote like half a paragraph because there was nothing to talk about.

According to my teacher, though, there are always pictures/quotes with the DBQ so that’s probably what threw people off.

The MC alternated from ‘np common knowledge’ (especially with the ‘location’ questions) to ‘haha these are for all of the Cow/Caos of the world who finish in 5 seconds’.

Used Lichtenstein for the one of the FRQs because I forgot about Li. So bad.

I AM MASTER OF INDIAN ART THOUGH OMG SO HAPPY.
SHIVA HAS PROTECTED ME.
