*OFFICIAL* 2012-2013 AP European History Thread

Ecrasez L’infame! (Crush the Horrible thing - Voltaire, lets apply this to the test and not religion)

@Christian2015 you can get a 5 with only getting 50% right on the multiple choice if you kick your essays out of the park. But you definitely get at least a three even if you do just ok on the frq and dbq

You can use appass.com to estimate your score. It is really helpful, and I have found it to be accurate.

I took the class last year, and didn’t study at all and got a 5. It was also my first AP test. It’s a really easy test.

So sorry to hear that your AP Euro experience was not a positive one. I’m sending some links to help anyone in the future that is looking for review sites that have followed these post. I know I’m late but you never know who it can help in the future…

did anyone think the mc was really hard? everything i studied was not on the test. my ap euro teacher didn’t teach all year. it was basically a relationship between me and my textbook all year so this didn’t exactly go so well. essays were fine though

Multiple choice was kinda hard. I’m afraid that my essays were too broad too. But I owned the DBQ.

DBQ was easy, multiple choice was kinda hard but not too terrible, and the essays weren’t that bad (I chose 4 and 7). I think I got a 3, but hopefully a 4.

Multiple choice was ridiculous

MC wasn’t awful. Lots of questions post-1950…weird. I expected something from the early years on the DBQ because of that, and I wasn’t surprised to see what it was. Did FRQs 4 and 7.

literally got raped by the multiple choice but thought my essays were pretty good (3 & 5). hopefully my random guessing on like half the questions paid off

Can anyone remember some of the multiple choice questions? I want to look them up and get a good idea of how well I did.

That multiple choice was absolutely ridiculous. I got a 5 in APUSH last year and this test literally felt like a 3.

MC was more difficult than I’ve ever seen me but I think I did well on the DBQ and #2, but BS’d #5 completely. Hoping for a 5 but maybe a 4.

The relative difficulty of the MC doesn’t really matter though, they adjust the score ranges that give a certain grade in accordance with their selected grade distribution. Right?

The only ones I remember were these Gustavus Adolphus one, the one about the revolution of greece after the congress of Vienna, Which pair of philosophers emphasized education

Same!! i got a 5 in apush and thought i got everything right. euro, i feel like i’ll be glad with a 3 -_-

The multiple choice is curved differently every year depending on how well the nation did as a whole. It does matter how well you feel you did although. If you feel confident that you did well on the multiple choice that’s really good because you get the same curve as everyone else hence more points and a higher chance of getting a higher score.

Anyone remember specifics about the quote with something about barbarism, one religion, etc? I think it was Torquemada because he was part of the Inquisition but I’m not sure.

I took the AP Euro exam this afternoon directly after taking APUSH in the morning, but those AP Euro mc’s would’ve been hard even if I wasn’t already brain dead.

“Fanaticism is to superstition what delirium is to fever, and what rage is to anger. The man visited by ecstasies and visions, who takes dreams for realities is an enthusiast; the man who supports his madness with murder is a fanatic.” Voltaire originally said this
