Yay! Congrats everyone! Btw- anyone know what scores (SAT/ACT) you need to be competitive for full tuition? Seems like there's some strong candidates on here.

^^^^ 1450 SAT (M/CR); not sure of ACT equivalent.

I'm just hoping for some merit money cause my parents wouldn't pay $40,000 per year for UPitt, they'd rather have me then go to one of my in-state schools if the choice came down to between the instate schools and UPitt.

My daughter received a letter today requesting mid-year senior grades. We are hopeful that she will be accepted once her grades are sent. So, I guess we are still playing the waiting game.

FYI, she was a 3.4 UW gpa
1250/1880 SAT

Captain of field hockey team
3 year varsity field hockey player
3 year varsity lacrosse player

4 APs

Did anyone else get this letter? We know two people who received this letter last year and were eventually admitted. Fortunately, her grades this year have been her best ever.

Thanks!

I was accepted into Pitt with similar GPA/Class Rank as Xconn, except my SAT was 1250. I retook them in October and am hoping for at least a 100 point increase, which I think I obtained based on studying. Do you think I will be accepted into the honors college after the fact with higher SAT scores?

Comments: YAY! congrats to all!

How long after your application was marked on line as complete did it take y
ou to get your letter ?

my application was complete on october 3rd. the letter said they made the decision on october 8th. 5 days! they're so efficient and quick.

gywmda: Were you accepted to the Med School (conditionally) too? I didn't think pre-med was a major at Pitt, but haven't looked too hard.

^i'm curious too. i thought you had to do a whole interview process and everything for the conditional admit to pre-med. they only accept 10-15 students per year. it seems really competitive. i almost applied.

pre-med would be my intended field of study, not my "major"... they wont make the decisions or schedule the interviews about the conditional school of medicine guarantee until later in the year. you had to mark down "pre-med" on your application to be in the pool of applicants under consideration

edit: i could have sworn i wrote down school of a&s when i posted that, sorry

I too received this letter requesting my mid-year grades.
My GPA is a 2.7 (UW) but I attend one of the most competitive private schools in the country, in Atlanta. I had around a 2.0 freshman year and ended up with a 3.6 junior year.
My sat was a 650(V), 640(M).
So has anyone else heard if people usually get in off of this or not?
