same here 3.72 gpa cs major missing 1 pre req

UCSB has like the best bio anthro program. If I don’t get in, I’ll feel like I’m wasting money at another UC. Getting accepted to UCSB will be the best day of my life.

State (if domestic applicant): CA
Country (if international applicant): N/A
School Type: CC
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Male
Hooks: First generation
Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): Sure

Reflection
Strengths: Good personal statement. Turned my grades around after a disastrous first semester. Upward trend in grades, Leadership and teaching positions.

Weaknesses: Low GPA (I think it leaned more towards 3.2 than 3.3) Failed calculus 1 and only managed to get a C my second time taking it. Have a few C’s, and did not finish math by fall. Few extracurricular activities and none really related to my major.

As you can see my tenure at community college was far from spectacular, I had a really low GPA and didn’t finish my math on time. Hopefully my decision will take some stress off those who are still pending. If I got accepted on my shoddy credentials then most of you have nothing to worry about :)

Congrats to those accepted and good luck to those still waiting!

Admitted transfers! Be sure to join the UCSB Transfer group on Facebook! A lot of us are going to meet up this Saturday at UCSB’s Spring Insight! :)
