<p>Didn’t list any EC’s since I TAG’d, also wrote a terrible personal statement since they don’t read them anyway. So happy I got accepted before spring insight.</p>

[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: To be honest, I really don’t know. I thought I had SB in the bag. I’m missing Physics, but its really common for transfers to do it their junior year. [/li][/ul]General Comments: I’m a little bitter about this. Oh well, I got into UCI with Regent’s. Hopefully, I get accepted to LA as well since I got invited to apply for Regent’s there as well…</p>
<p>What’s the link? I’m on my phone and can’t go digging for it haha</p>
<p>Join “UCSB Transfer students 2013” on Facebook fellas, congrats!!</p>
<p>Wow I can’t believe you got rejected @Kingofspades, I would definitely appeal if you want to attend UCSB.</p>
<p>I would, but I don’t I will have the time to go through the whole appeals process since I need to stay on top of my spring semester’s course load. My top choice is UCLA, and today’s decisions kind of made me feel iffy on whether or not I would get accepted since my stats aren’t nearly as great when compared to the majority of accepted LA applicants.</p>

Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted):
Reflection
Strengths: Decent gpa and my essay reflects why my volunteer work shaped my desire to go into political science to eventually work in human rights policies (but they don’t look at essays, so…).
Weaknesses: OOS student, missing 1 pre-req
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Not entirely sure what was so wrong about my application, b/c I got rejected from UCSC, too. It could be that some of my credits weren’t considered transferable, though most of them are pretty straightfoward GE classes. I’m holding my breath that I’ll get into the other schools, but it’s not looking great :/</p>
<p>Rejected =(
Got rejected the afternoon they first released transfer info. I was a lurker then, but I wanted to log on to help other people gauge where they are at.</p>
<p>UC GPA: Not sure
Major Pre-reqs Completed: No

IGETC?: Yes
Cum GPA:3.07. My GPA since returning student 3.85 unweighted (I take honors courses too - not sure if that counts as higher in college).</p>

Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Work with foster kids
Job/Work Experience: Built own company. Work 50 - 60 hours week.
Volunteer/Community service: I help out at different church events throughout the year, but not an amazing amount. 2 - 3 weekends aggregate per year.

Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): Highly motivated, divorced family, college skipped generation.
Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): </p>
<p>Reflection
Strengths: GPA Trend, Honors, Attended UCLA Summer Econ class,
Weaknesses: Age
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Not sure. My age is my only thing that I think could be a factor.</p>
<p>Accepted (Not sure what time but got the decision today)
UC GPA: 3.92
Major Pre-reqs Completed: 1 missing
Intended Major: Sociology
TAG?: No
IGETC?:Completed</p>
<p>Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Not much, few in high school
Job/Work Experience: Few summer jobs
Volunteer/Community service: Not much.
Personal Statement: 8/10?
Other

Reflection
Strengths: GPA?
Weaknesses: 3 Ws I guess, and not much ec</p>
<p>ACCEPTED on 4/5/13
UC GPA:3.4
Major Pre-reqs Completed:4/5

IGETC?:All completed by Spring '13</p>

Job/Work Experience: Summer '12 intern before fall semester
Volunteer/Community service: A few clubs from highschool but that’s about it
Personal Statement: A solid 8/10 I feel like it was very decent however I recently went to UCSB and was told that they focus more on academics rather than personal statements on the application.(Something to keep in mind)
Other: I took a wide variety of classes even before starting my major classes pretty late up until just this semester.
Applied for Financial Aid?:yes
State (if domestic applicant):CA
Country (if international applicant):
School Type:
Ethnicity:Vietnamese American
Gender:Male</p>
<p>Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.):
Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted):Maybe</p>
<p>Strengths:Good GPA that was above TAG, though I did not apply for it. I gave a really good personal statement on my major choice and a reason why i started my major classes late. Finished most prereqs and all IGETC which is important
Weaknesses: Not the best GPA, no extracurriculars or work experience which is why I’m admitted as “pre-economics”.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected:Accepted because I had a solid GPA throughout my 2 years at the CC and was able to be on track and finish all the IGETC as well as my major prereqs</p>
<p>Hey guys, do any of you know if the blue and gold program goes by gross income or adjusted gross income? I can’t find any info on that on the interweb!!</p>
<p>I think it might be adjusted gross income.</p>
<p>To me it’s kind of logical to go by adjusted because its your real income after all the taxes. It it’s AGI I qualify if its not I don’t! </p>
<p>If it is AGI*</p>
<p>Anyone get their financial aid package yet?</p>
<p>I haven’t received anything yet.</p>
<p>Mermaker did you send your SIR yet?</p>
