****Official 2013 Harvard Waitlist Thread****

The logins will not be activated until around when the letters are mailed out. They complete that part of the process after they are finished with the first pass.

That comment implies to me that they go “yea or nay” on each person, and have a high standard (so they don’t over admit).

Just using the 1,500 number as an example. It keeps the math simple.

Looks like another day passes with no one getting in from CC

Hello,

I was told by my guidance counselor that harvard had called my school wondering if I was still interested(even tho i have sent in a letter of interest a while ago) My guidance counselor returned Harvard’s voicemail message assuring them I am. At this point what should I do? Has anyones school been contacted?

Than You

^wow, that’s a really good sign, i’m guessing. i think they might want to know if you’d still be willing to go before they call you. it’s all to keep their yield rate high. if they know that you would go, then they don’t have to worry about a decrease in yield.

Congrats CoolCalculator! Definitely a good sign.

sadovaya’s son was accepted off the wait list.

anyone hear of anyone getting off the wait list yet?

We have 3 members who themselves or their children allegedly got off the waitlist.

when and by letter or phone call?

Don’t lose hope, guys! It’s still early. I went back to look at last year’s thread from around this time and I think there were only around 3 or 4 admitted by then as well. It seems that notifications will keep trickling in until the day before the official date, which we have from OperaDad to be May 20th (incidentally, my graduation date XD). Also, it seems that calls come as late as 9PM, so it might not be immediately at 5.

The information about sadovaya’s son is actually pretty interesting. Her description makes him seem more like a genuine, well-rounded kid as opposed to someone who’d fill a specific niche they’re lacking. They may be past the “plugging the holes” phase, so to speak.

Part of the confusing/inconsistent stories could be attributed to ■■■■■■ on this forum. As I understand it, a ■■■■■ posts incorrect information to play with people. For some reason Harvard sites are of particular interest to ■■■■■■.

um bc ppl take this too seriously?

Yeah this is fun and all but I’m a bit skeptical of the all the stories floating around. I guess just make sure you take each claim with a grain of salt. At least it’s nice talking to people who are in the same boat.

it’s good to have a hope in the morning every day. Lets keep the saying “today could be the day”.

today could be the day!!

^ Hope springs eternal…

Today will be the day!

optimism

I feel it!

I taste it!

so there hasn’t been any new information? Ughh & i guess we are all counting down until 5pm EST. you guys are awesome though & we all deserve a phone call  Today could be the day! gooodluck everyone!
