****Official 2013 Harvard Waitlist Thread****

just wondreing, my mom said she read somewhere that they are only taking 85 ppl from WL…anybody have same or contrary info?

Here is the article indicating 85

[The Harvard Crimson :: News :: Yield Holds Steady For 2013](http://www.thecrimson.com/article.aspx?ref=528168)

so few from CC got off the WL… is it over now?

Almost 5PM… This is going to be random, Does anyone know where to find an English translation for Chaiyya Chaiyya from Dil Se?

I got a call!!!

but it was from my band teacher… =(

my GC called and asked “is this YEli?”…my heart was pounding until I figured out it was only my GC

WHY must telemarketers love to call in the 5-6pm time frame?
Two days in a row. First one was an airline, the other a chimney-cleaning service.
Quit playing games with my heart…

My son was admitted off the wait list on Monday. We live in England and he attends the international school here. They’ve taken 2 off the wait list so far, and had originally admitted 2.

^ they admitted 2 from England? or overall? what?

Thanks for the lyrics!

I had a thought today… I believe they make phone calls region by region and discuss applicants region by region. If the northeast is not being discussed until tomorrow and a large group of applicants is from the northeast, that would explain why we haven’t seen many calls in the last week.

why is the NE tomorrow? How do we know what regions they have done? OperaDad in somewehere in the Central Time Zone…

I dont know about the northeast being tomorrow because I’m from NY and my friend got in on tuesday.

I just heard from my interviewer (who just spoke w/my regional adrep) that the regional lists are being compiled now. They will be brought together for review next week, when the first round will be decided.

When does the first round “end?”

The first round ends May 19… Whyyyyyyyyy.

^hmm, so if the first round ends may 19th, they will have to make decisions by monday-ish, right?

@yeli, you’re interviewer seems pretty helpful, that’s really neat. if they’re going to review the lists next week, how come a few people have already been admitted? If I had to guess, I would have to say that they were special cases: admitted based on a glaring need to round out the class of '13.

any ideas guys?

So they’re going to take 85 of us (roughly) off the waitlist, but 85 out of how many of us? I mean, how many are we on the waitlist right now?

For those who were called, what did your caller ID say? Does it actually say Harvard Admissions? I will probably pass out if i see that haha

Gallus - Harvard doesn’t share any specifics like that
I mean people still don’t know the exact number of last year’s waitlistees lol

Roll the dice… 7:30! Come on, 7:30! o_-

Anyone else have info about regional meetings of the committee? We know for a fact that they’ve been meeting since last Friday (May 8). What have they been doing the whole time?
