Question: Since the Yield was very high for Minorities this year do you think it spells disaster for those still on the waitlist… i.e. Me

Post #146 has last year’s geographical distribution of kids accepted to Harvard.

Don’t forget, Roneald was also admitted a few posts back… so that’s five people.

so if we don’t hear by tuesday the 19th, then it’s likely that we’re either rejected or still on the waiting list? will they send letters to everyone on the 20th, or just to those who have been accepted?

^as far as letters on the 20th, i believe that they will only send letters to those who have been accepted.

i am also on the waitlist. (CA)
this thread has been very helpful!

hey guys, I am also one of those people who just read the thread up until now. It has been really helpful though!
I am in a weird situation: I am waitlisted and reside in Northern VA but I am not a US citizen. I had my interview with a regional rep in VA, and applied through my American HS. I don’t know how they would consider me during committee though. Would they read me as a VA student or an international one? Any ideas?

^ It depends on your citizenship. If you’re not U.S. citizen/permanent rez, then you’re international.

I’m waitlisted too, I’m an international student from Italy.

olli, im also in a similar situation, i was born in the us so i have us citizenship yet i have lived all my life outside, i applied as both citizenships but im not sure what they consider me, if anybody knows, please explain!

If you are U.S. citizen, then you’re not international; if you’re not U.S. citizen, then you’re international. I’m not sure where the confusion is?

i believe in terms of regional reps, it’s solely based on where you live. for example, i am neither a permenant res nor a citizen of the US, but i live in MA so my regional rep is the MA one so if i get off the waitlist, it would be with the rest of the mass kids

Ah, that perhaps is the case. But I was addressing the fact that international acceptance rate is 3% as opposed to 7.4%, so that’s where the status thing is important.

i have several citizenships , US included. do you think they consider me international or not?

Nope. I’m pretty sure you are American citizen if you have the citizenship, regardless of your other ones.

UndefinedUnknown, I think you will be considered US citizen no matter what other citizens you are holding.
