One kid from Oregon got in today

Any news from the South?

aw, hope we dont all get rejection emails this week :/

At least it’d put us out of our misery >_> But one way or another, we made the right choice to hold to the waitlist (in terms of information we had at the time), and we’re still all going to good schools, so hell, I guess it’s time to cruise into the rest of our lives.

The FB group has 13 new members, but the increase in reports from CC seems a little bit more consistent with the numbers now. For everyone asking about the South, I haven’t heard of anyone getting off either and I actually do know a lot of very qualified applicants also from GA who are waitlisted. This seems kind of strange…but then again maybe they just don’t need any more kids from this area?
Still not ruling anything out until the night is over…

wow, it seems like a lot of regions haven’t been discussed yet or at least we have heard no news from. I haven’t heard of anyone from the DC metro area/ VA/MD getting off the waitlist. And our area is so big and so full of waitlistees that I’m sure that if we were already discussed somebody would know by now, and there have been no posts about that on this thread, or the facebook group, or any of my friends’ status updates. This makes me think that calls are either going to go on for a LONG time today or will continue on tomorrow, etc.
After all, the first round DELIBERATIONS will go on until today, but that doesn’t mean that the phone calls will stop today. They ca always ‘inform’ us later. This also gives them some leeway for continuing to look at some areas and give out calls until all the letters are sent out.
so don’t give up hope if you haven’t been called yet!

I’m still hoping/praying that people from the South will be taken off the wait list… Still waiting…

Thank you for giving us an optimistic look on Harvard’s waitlist!

Best of luck to you. =)

I’m sure this topic has been hit on before, but seriously, Harvard is a jerk about its waitlist. It really isn’t ethical to keep people waiting in the dark, raising false hope, encouraging speculation and rumors. I know everyone is looking for acceptances, but has anyone got a REJECTION who was on the waitlist yet? I’m sure that there has to be a group of people that Harvard knows it will reject, but is still keeping on for no reason.

Oh well, that was my rant…I’d rather go to Princeton anyway.

Well, Harvard hasn’t seen this waitlist method decrease its applicants nor its waitlist acceptances, so it seems that people are willing to put up with it for the chance to get into Harvard.

so if u live in california, does it mean that ur gonna pretty much have to wait till at least the second round until you hear any news?

vectoraj i know what you mean, plenty of other top tier ivies are already done with their waitlist stuff…or at least posted some concrete information…

they will be rejecting most waitlistees with letters going out on friday. just called today.

k sounds good

about time it’ll be over.

my s got a call this afternoon-I didn’t even think he had bothered to be put on the waiting list (he didn’t tell us)-we’re shocked.

b’smom where do u all live?

oy this is getting me really nervous??? AHHHH!

Does anyone know the Metro Boston getting off the wait-lists?

I got the call this afternoon at about 4:30…I still can’t believe it happened! I’m in Western NY for the record. The only extra things I sent were an updated letter and an updated recommendation from my GC. Good luck to all still on the waiting list! I’m not going to be back to CC. I’m into Harvard. That is enough for me.
