So who really knows what is going on?

^For those of you who got in and did write a “why harvard” interest letter,
can you tell me what you exactly include? Is it helpful to be very specific, such as which professors you want to work with, and what classes you want to take? Is it okay to write a brief letter stating about how the harvard curriculum specifically fits you? I personally didn’t win any major awards or anything, or anything that is related to my proposed major. truly appreciate if you can help me out!

And, I think I missed the explanation. The z-list is for people willing to wait an eternity to get into Harvard or something?

^
i believe if you are on the z-list, it means that you will have to take a forced gap year before matriculating at Harvard. So it’s not really like waiting an eternity but you would have to have enough guts to wait for a whole year.

And still no news for the South. seriously, are they only going to give spots to New England, CA, and a few others?

So it seems…haha.

so tommorow’s the supposed date for H to send letters right?
would they make calls on the day of?

Does anyone know how many waitlistees they reject, and about how many they put on extended waitlists?

Let’s hope yes to your first two questions. I’ve heard the “majority” is rejected.

@revesan_316: I believe you should, excuse the cliche, speak from the heart. I simply expressed why i wanted to go to harvard. They want to know why you want them specifically. Look up some courses that strike your interests, talk about studying in Cambridge for 4 yrs, talk about joining an a cappella group, or playing Quidditch in the Yard… Whatever floats your boat I don’t judge, nor do they.

Imagine you were the richest man in the world and could have any woman. Which would you choose, the woman who want’s you based on your reputation or the one who has got to know you. Just a thought. It worked for me. Good Luck to all those still on the list.

vermont someone from my school got in

Anyone from Canada hear anything yet?

Bets for more calls tomorrow?

sadly I am giving up hope. its pretty clear that the waitlist was very large (2000 plus) and the percentage of offers off the waitlist was at or below the general pool. bummer.

My school’s valedictorian was offered a spot at Harvard today. She turned down Northwestern HPME for it.

chicamuylista: wow, did the call to your friend come yesterday (Thursday) and not Tuesday? also, what region is your high school school?

Thanks!

Surprisingly, I’m very calm about today. chicamuylista’s story, there is a possibility that calls will be made today. Well, I guess this is the “end of the beginning.”

more like the end of a very long middle.

Best of luck to us all!

Hey just called the admissions a couple of minutes ago
More calls will most likely be made today
Everyone will get a decision letter early next week since letters were mailed today

interesting. good luck to everyone, although I’m past hoping at this point.
