<p>There have been people in NYC who did get the letter. One kid is now going to Y/P/S–can’t remember.</p>
<p>Maybe they just accepted too many from this area already, and while there are really stellar candidates that they don’t want to eliminate quite yet, they are waiting to see how the geographical distribution of the class plays out before they take anyone else, no matter how strong the candidate.</p>
<p>I got the letter - its sad to be rejected. But i kinda figured its because i would be in need of an incredible amount of financial aid to attend. and i would assume the waitlist is not need blind. Good luck to all!!</p>

<p>Send in ASAP. The response date for the first round waitlist is June 1. They should start deliberating again soon after that date.</p>

i called the admissions office, and the lady said “then I guess it’s safe to assume that you’re on the extended waitlist if you have not received any mail”
also she said all the process will end on July 1st.</p>

<p>So even though I avowed to stay away from this forum I decided to pop back in just to clarify my confusion about rejections… Haven’t received a letter yet either as far as I’m aware of, so I guess I’m still on the WL? I wonder how many people they rejected and how many they kept. The breakdown on CC could ostensibly be influenced by both the caliber of the CC community as a whole and the fact that rejected applicants are less likely to come back and confirm that, both factors skewing the data towards a greater proportion of people still on the WL than are actually. Then again it’s 1:52AM here and I might not be making much sense…</p>
