****Official 2013 Harvard Waitlist Thread****

It seems like only 20-30 calls will be made, period, before the summer melt. So statistically, it’s possible that no one on CC gets a call before the second round closes, especially if the extended waitlist is anything larger than 200-300 people.

@philosophia72 exactly. Apparently i cannot have an opinion about a person i have know for around 6+ years but NotATroll can judge me clear as day from one post.

& yes ■■■■■, you are trying to psychoanalyze & judge people, but thats okay bc on this forum we could care less what ■■■■■■ have to say.

let’s stop feeding the ■■■■■ & hope he starves & well maybe not dies, but goes hunting somewhere else.

To everyone else: My AO called & left a message. & he confirmed the commencement interruption as being valid. Also, decisions will start next week. Goodluck :)

& is the figure of 20-30 people confirmed or just a guesstamation?

Oh, it’s a definite guestimation. I’d like to think it’s pretty reasonable though, since the majority of waitlist admittees have already been contacted.

It’s great that your AO’s so responsive, HopingForHarvard.

Also, it’s quite clear that NotATroll is a ■■■■■. Please refrain from “feeding” him/her. These are the machinations of one who is desperate for attention.

Although my AO said that there was " Definetly going to be another round" I was doubting that it would be more then just those rejected. So does that mean about 50 were admitted first round or were 85 admitted?

My AO does respond but it takes him awhile. & he never divulages too much info like specific numbers. & the message didn’t reveal a lot either just that there has been a break bc of commencement.

Well, just by looking at last year’s situation, they said they were going to admit around 150, and ended up going over 220, if I remember correctly. So it’s never definite how things work out.

Someone said earlier in the thread that they didn’t admit the full 85 though.

I’ve no clue how many they admitted the first round though, but I have been told it’s “most” of applicants who are to be admitted off the waitlist.

what is summer melt and how does it pertain to waitlists?

that’s what i thought. My AO is said to call him back & I have been trying however its been hard to catch him. Im hoping more will be admitted, but im starting to lose confidence in there being more acceptances.

Yeah, same here. It certainly is discouraging, taking in probability and numbers. :(

Oh well, I guess we’ll wait for the middle of June or so to hear the verdict.

yeah rejection served on a silver platter 2 months late. haha.

my AO said they will finalize decisions by the end of next week at the latest!!! this is official from the CA rep. I think after next week we can call & find out if we are rejected by phone & then receive letters the following week.

yeah, when i talked to the receptionist lady she said the meeting is coming up soon.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

whats “the meeting?”
the final decisions?

deliberations when they will reconvene & make decisions on people’s applications.

HforH: did your AO say that we can call? jw where you got that idea from…

okay so I called the admissions. I can’t recall exactly what the lady said but I believe they have met (today) and still in the process of trying to figure out whom to admit. There will be another meeting sometime next week. The lady does not know how much time the admissions committee will allow between the meeting and the actual notification of the results (aka calls to house).

And @medkid06: I believe you can call the admissions once the official decisions have been made. But I have a feeling that you would probably get the information before you’d be allowed to call so it’s probably just better to wait. I heard that calls will definately be made for this round and they will also be sending out letters to release others.

thanks revesan_316

so im wondering as to whether this round of calls will be it, or will they have to follow up to fill any more rejected spots…

Yay for that nervous feeling in my stomach! :D!

@medkid06:
I think that after this round, there might be a few more people getting calls like in early July or something because well, things happen (as in ppl decline, change plans, etc). The lady on the phone told me that there could potentially be these very unfortunate cases… but in general, the number of people getting calls like in July is probably very small.

so no ones been receiving any news from H, right?

my school ends next monday, ah.
good luck to everyone!
