[] Essays: My Why Oberlin was creative and strong (but limited because of word limits) - I told a story about how I found out about Oberlin that everybody seems to love. My Common App essay was about my nutty family and the values I've learned from my grandmother and great-aunts - all Holocaust survivors.
[] Teacher Recommendation: I'm assuming fairly strong - one was from my AP Biology teacher/Science Olympiad coach who thinks I'm amazing. The other was from AP U.S. and Comparative Gov teacher.
[] Counselor Rec: I don't know - my counselor doesn't know me very well.
[] Additional Rec:
[] Interview: Definitely my best interview. It was just comfortable and fun. It was with an admissions reader and a student intern (Oberlin senior), not an alumnus.

[] Ethnicity: Caucasian
[] Gender: F
[] Income Bracket: Around $100,000
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Attended three high schools, maybe?
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: APs, ACT, a few leadership/founding positions
[] Weaknesses: They probably have lots of white, Jewish girls who play 'cello
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think my interests and strengths are very diverse, and that showed in my application.
[/ul]General Comments: Also got the John F. Oberlin scholarship, which is excellent, but they gave me poor need-based aid. I think my parents are going to appeal and see if we can get more because I really like Oberlin! Congrats to everybody who got in! Good luck everyone with decisions!
