My Common App essay was about my nutty family and the values I’ve learned from my grandmother and great-aunts - all Holocaust survivors.
[] Teacher Recommendation: I’m assuming fairly strong - one was from my AP Biology teacher/Science Olympiad coach who thinks I’m amazing. The other was from AP U.S. and Comparative Gov teacher.
[] Counselor Rec: I don’t know - my counselor doesn’t know me very well.
[] Additional Rec:

[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: APs, ACT, a few leadership/founding positions
[] Weaknesses: They probably have lots of white, Jewish girls who play 'cello
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think my interests and strengths are very diverse, and that showed in my application.
[/ul]General Comments: Also got the John F. Oberlin scholarship, which is excellent, but they gave me poor need-based aid. I think my parents are going to appeal and see if we can get more because I really like Oberlin! Congrats to everybody who got in! Good luck everyone with decisions!

[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Scores, GPA, different from most applicants.[/li][/ul]General Comments: Woo! Oberlin is definitely one of my top choices. I’ll probably end up deciding between it and Grinnell. I was offered a 15k per year merit scholarship from Obie, too, which is very exciting.
