@ArchibaldTuttle I would be off the wall right now if I were you. Congrats

I thought Georgetown only did letters, not emails. Also, last year people received their letters much later than now. You guys are lucky to have heard back so soon, I hope the rest of us do to.

got accepted to the College, e-mail received at 5:36!

I got an email at about 6:20 @tusjus916. I’ll be a junior economics major there transferring from ORU. Here are some of my stats:

GPA: 4.0
ACT: 35
HS GPA: 4.52 and ranked 8/554
EC’s: Lots of theatre stuff (directing, acting, stage managing), tutoring, academic leader position on my floor, did some filmmaking in high school, did marketing and mathematical research over the past year, was marketing assistant at ORU’s basketball venue
Why transfer: ORU doesn’t have an econ major (which is what I want). I was very specific that I wanted to apply game theory to entertainment markets. I mentioned teachers and programs at Georgetown that would help me as well as theatre opportunities. I was very specific with my reasoning and always told a story with my essays.

Hope this helps!

^I meant @wellletshope

Hey prospective Georgetown transfers! I transfered to Georgetown last year and have some information I’d like to relay to y’all.

If you have been accepted (CONGRATS) and plan to attend, please join the Facebook group! It requires approval though, so someone might ask about your admission status before approving you for the group.

I believe Georgetown Admissions is doing decisions through emails this year for transfers. Or so I heard…

Good luck everyone! I didn’t get in until May 22nd and decisions roll all summer.

Ughh emails already geez.

Commence panic and second guessing.

@sonolacrosse Can we be friends? You sound like a really interesting kid.
@Luthsn Yes. I ran screaming across AU’s quad, actually. Still I have no idea why I got accepted

@ArchibaldTuttle sure, man! Send me a PM And congrats BTW! According the letter I got, only 150 got in out of almost 2000 applicants (around 7.5% acceptance rate, which is really low for Georgetown). Good luck to everyone else, and @wellletshope I did get into Georgetown College.

Question: anyone who got accepted already through, are you local or far away?
More questions, lol will all decisions be electronic this year? I see last year a lot of dmv snail mail decisions early on.
And has anyone been rejected yet? Or will the for sure be the last wave of decisions by the deadline?

Has anyone heard from the SFS yet?

@GunninMed The school I’m transferring from is literally a 15 minute bike ride away from Georgetown; so very local. You’ll probably hear electronically first, but, as usual, it comes down to getting that big or little envelope in the mail.

Has there been rejections too?

What did your acceptance emails say, if you don’t mind my asking? @ArchibaldTuttle

@air317
"It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the Committee on Admissions has voted to accept your application for transfer admission to Georgetown University. I am happy to offer you a place in the class beginning in the fall of 2014.

You are to be congratulated on your admission in a very competitive process. This year, Georgetown’s Admissions Committees considered nearly 2,000 transfer candidates for approximately 150 spaces. Enclosed you will find further information explaining details of your admission and enrollment. An evaluation of your transfer credits will be sent to you separately by your Dean’s Office. When you have reached your decision to attend Georgetown, please return the enclosed Enrollment Agreement Form along with the required $900 deposit. This deposit must be received by June 15th to confirm your place in the class.
I am pleased to speak for the entire Georgetown community in welcoming you to the University. I will look forward to your response."

The fact that I haven’t gotten an email yet really worries me. And for such a competitive year, I feel like acceptances have already been sent out :/

@ArchibaldTurtle yeah it was hoping for far away haha. My permanent address is 30 mins away and I work 5 minutes away. I literally have to go by campus everyday! Such torture.

I will surely die of an anxiety attack before this is over

When I inquired about an early notification, the counselor told me they were looking at a 15% acceptance rate this cycle. Seeing that the email said they accepted around 7-8% makes me question if perhaps they’ve only accepted 150 so far and that there will be more waves of acceptances.

We won’t know anything until emails come out, so let’s all chill out!

Wouldn’t the 150 spaces mentioned in the acceptance letter be the projected enrollment? Therefore they would admit more students than that since not every student accepted accepts the offer. At least that’s what I am hoping for! Has anybody from California heard yet?
