@dreamerxoxo what school did you apply to?

Accepted to NYU!! 7:25 AM, with no change to financial aid or housing before this morning. However, in my housing portal, “Fall in New York City” now says “Transfer Undergraduate.”

Decision letter did go to my Spam folder, so make sure to check there! Got an email about housing which started off by saying “Congratulations again on your admission to NYU.” so I was very confused

Congrats to everyone who was accepted! This was really needed on my part :)

Hey congrats guys! And I’m sorry for those who were rejected in sure you’ll be happy wherever u end up. I have not heard back from NYU yet but I’m paranoid about something… So earlier a few weeks ago I accidentally submitted a housing app for the fall (I was just curious about the process and wasn’t really paying attention) but then I canceled the housing app right away. This couldn’t in any way effect my admission right? Lol this might be a dumb question but I’m just super paranoid about this whole thing and on edge like I’m sure most of us waiting to hear back are haha

@thecollegekid24 Well don’t leave us hanging! What was the decision?!

@MMH224 it’s not far it’s in the suburban part of Atlanta but there campus is really nice especially housing

@henryvli unable to see the web page even with the spaces taken out but what does it say. Have you paid your housing deposit?

@henryvli Congrats! You’ve been accepted. I actually got that email first, much to my surprise and confusion. Check your spam folder, and if there’s no decision letter there, call admissions to confirm.

Greetings from Greenwich Village!
Congratulations again on your admission to NYU. Whether you are still deciding to attend or you have confirmed your enrollment, we want to be sure you start thinking about off-campus housing for the fall. As you may already know, it is unlikely that we will be able to provide on-campus housing for the fall semester.
Housing may be available beginning in January, but until then, a larger than expected freshman class and the renovation of one of our residence halls, will make it difficult for us to offer any on-campus housing for incoming transfer students.
As a result, we strongly encourage you to visit our Off-Campus Living website:
<a href=“Off-Campus Living”>Off-Campus Living;
Through this website, you can search for apartment listings and roommates.
We wish you the best of luck in preparing for your move to New York!
Shawn L. Abbott
Assistant Vice President and Dean of Admissions

Well boys, it has been a pleasure. I was officially denied from NYU Stern toady at 12:48pm (even though they told me I would find out this Thursday). For future transfer students (2015, 2016, etc) that will refer to this thread, here are my stats:
- Accepted early decision I in High School
- HS GPA: 4.1
- ACT: 32
- Status: applied with +72 hours
- Applied from a top ten business school (both public & private) in the U.S.
- Collegiate GPA: 3.48 (justified with the loss of a family member)
- Collegiate EC’s:
->VP of Fraternity (raised over $10,000 and awarded highest presidential award for Volunteering)
-> President of Finance Society
-> Treasurer of Investment Club
-> Captain of Rugby Team (International & Mid-western championships)
-> Financial Director of a non-profit start-up
-> Buy-side M&A Internship (Fortune 500)
-> Corporate Finance Internship (Fortune 500)
-> Consulting Internship (Prestigious Boutique)
-> Equity Research Internship (Boutique)
- Letters of Rec:
-> One teacher from who teaches at my school and at Univ of Chicago (BSD researcher)
-> One teacher who teaches at my school and at NYU STERN (BSD Research & Hedge Fund Boss) - Essays: (I’m bias but I thought they were strong, specially when you have Yale PHD students look over them)
-> Why NYU
- Talked about particular clubs I would join and why
- Talked about the symposiums, conferences, etc NYU offers and why/how I would take adv
(In my high school essays for this question I talked about the city and being a finance major to be a the epicenter of my major)

For those looking to apply to Stern, I would recommend making sure you receive all A’s or -A’s in your math classes. If you plan on transferring to NYU from a college out east, attend as many conferences, sympoisums, etc as possible. Network with faculty and students.

@crazynewton Really sorry to hear the news. On the bright side, looking over your stats I’d imagine you will find success wherever you end up.

For those who are on the same boat as me, if we pay our housing deposit and don’t get housing do we get the refund for $1000?

@nyunyufall14 call NYU Admission (212) 998-4500 and ask them to transfer you to NYU Housing

Do you guys think decisions will be released tomorrow or not again until Thursday?

Thank you, @theyadoreyou. I wish you the best of luck on your endeavors.

Hey guys, so I just got rejected (yay)! On the bright side, I got admitted into 4 other awesome schools, so I’m not all that bumped, even though I had to cry it out of my system for a good 30 minutes ahah. No shame. I wish you all good luck and check your spams, my decision was in there!
One last little thing, do any of you guys know how I can look up which one of Emory or BU has the best undergrad psych program? I’m still lost and I have to pay the deposit for Emory on Friday if I decide to go there so it’s pretty urgent. Thanks! Good luck people! :)>-

Has anyone got accepted or rejected with only change on housing but no change on fa? I got my change on housing 2 weeks ago but haven’t heard back yet. I am so nervous now…

@wugyyy Yep. I got accepted this morning, but there was no change in FA until later this afternoon when it finally showed year aid 2015. There’s still no award, though. I’m expecting an email sometime soon.

My housing did not change AT ALL until this morning, when Fall in New York City changed to Transfer Undergraduate.

I applied for CAS for a degree in Mathematics and Statistics. I applied with a GPA at 3.56 as a Junior and got denied for admission today at 1:46 PM. My previous two semester I had a GPA of 3.9 and 4.0 respectively. I was accepted to University of Rochester which is ranked the same as NYU on US news. I was never asked for a midterm report but I probably should have sent it anyway (2 A’s and 1 B). Good luck to all remaining applicants!
