Official 2014 NYU Transfer Thread

@KingofSweden‌ your housing changed before you got accepted?

@wugyyy It might have, but I wouldn’t have known. I checked my housing portal twice the day before, but it still said “Non-Renewable Undergraduate.” When I checked it after receiving my acceptance, I saw it had finally changed to “Transfer Undergraduate.”

I really think that if your housing application changes to “Transfer Undergraduate” an acceptance is on its way.

Accepted to CAS ECON yesterday lol.
Received mid-term report on May 9.
Transferring from a private university in Boston Area.

I am still waiting for USC, but family and friends are telling me to go to NYU.

@back2home‌ congrats can you share your statis?

@Ftgirl sure.

HS gpa: 3.87
SAT: 2080
College first semester gpa: 4.0 (from El Camino College)
Second semester gpa: 3.6 (from a private institution in Boston Area)

I was admitted to spring semester so I went to CC in the fall semester to transfer credits.

e.c:
some interns and volunteer leadership. Very normal stuff.

33 credits will be transferred.

And I am becoming sophomore.

Hey has anyone heard back today?

Nope. But my housing app changed just a few hours ago to transfer undergrad. Are we POSITIVE this means something? haha, not freaking out yet.

@tweetybird12‌ me too! What college did you apply?

@Ftgirl Steinhardt! You?

@tweetybird12‌ CAS

I just called NYU admissions and he said that is rolling admissions… meaning the earlier you apply the better chance you have. Im very upset because this isn’t something that NYU made public this decision to do rolling admissions was their little secret. I didn’t submit my app really early because I spent a lot of time working on my app and crafting my essays and didn’t submit it until the end of March. I am an ok applicant but I am not strong enough of an applicant for rolling admissions. Guess I’m rejected.

@dwarnock95‌ Stay positive!!! Maybe everyone who applied before you is grossly under qualified? lol
@tweetybird12 So far everyone who has had the housing change has received good news!!

@dwarnock95‌ I’m with you…I’m so upset about the rolling admissions! When I went to an information session at NYU back in November I specifically asked if admissions were rolling for transfers…and their reply was “No, just make sure you submit your application before April 1st.”

I applied on March 19th

@TommyMilk‌ and @Blossom14‌ Congratulations on your acceptance into the program!!! I still haven’t heard back :frowning: When did you submit your application and audition package?

@goldblend‌ exactly. I don’t understand how they can just change their minds about how they accept their students? lol I applied March 29th but I guess that was over a weekend or something because according to Albert my app wasn’t submitted until March 31st… so yeah I think my chances of getting in are EXTREMELY small now. blehhhh :/

@dwarnock95 NYU is DEFINITELY NOT rolling admission. I applied on the deadline date and I heard back two weeks after.

@henryvli‌ I hope you are right I really do it’s just what the guy on the phone told me. I even asked “so the earlier you apply the better chance you have?” And he said yes. But I really hope you are right.

That’s strange…I submitted my application on April 1st but I have already heard back from them. I got into CAS as a Biology major!

@niche13 congratulations!!

and Idk. Maybe they’re doing mostly rolling admissions with a few exceptions? I have no idea I just wanna hear back already -_- lol blehhh
