The main theme of the book is pay attention the main idea and not the details. It is more important to know what the authors views and positions are than try to focus on the details and get lost. If the questions ask for details go back to the passage and find them. The author also has a blog with helpful tips :

@UAS898 - there are debates about the usefulness of vocab lists in general. Personally, I’m not a big fan. However, if you’re into lists that’s probably a good one as is almost everything provided by Ms. Meltzer.

Guys any tips on how to calm down?

the answer to the D&E digits problem labeled 5:

d x 10^3 +e x 10 if d and e are non zero digits and o is the digit 0
10^3 = 1000, so d x 10^3 is d thousand. e x 10 would be the number e0 if e is a digit.
so d thousand plus e0 is d0e0 or “doeo” or “D” is the correct answer.

the answer to the problem labeled 18 with n=10011002100310041005…1020:

what is the sum of the digits of n?
we see a pattern of 100n,100(n+1),100(n+2). 1001 all added is 2, 1002 all added is 3. 1003 all added is 4, so the problem follows the pattern of 2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+3. That may seem odd, but after the sequence 1,0,9,0, where we calculate 1+0+0+9 which =10, the sequence is 1,0,1,0, so the pattern resets because we are still adding single digits(1+0+1+0 and not 1+10). the three at the end is for the sequence 1,0,2,0, where we add 1+0+2+0 and not 1+20. so the answer is 2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+3=“122”

the answer to the chart with 25 points:

"the graph above shows the heights and volumes of 25 different giant sequoia trees. Which of the following could be the median height and the median volume of the trees?:
The FIRST thing to notice when asked a median question is the # of numbers in the set. Here we have 25. when taking the median of a set of ODD numbers, the median # is ALWAYS in the set. When taking the median of an EVEN # of numbers, the answer MAY OR MAY NOT be in the set. example, median of 1,2,3 is 2, median of 1,2,3,4 is 2.5 median of 1,2,2,4 is 2.
so notice that we have 25 numbers and that the number HAS to be a point on the scatter-plot.244 feet and 39,000 feet, or “B” isn’t on the plot, so cross it out. 251ft and 27,000ft^3 or “D” isn’t on the graph so cross it out. 248 and 38000 “C” isn’t there, so cross it out.10 dots cant fit between 250 and 260, so we don’t have the accuracy to report 251 and 39000 “E” so cross that out. we see that there is a point at 244 and 37000 so that’s the answer.

The answer to the question labeled 19 about the parabola opening upward with vertex (c,d):

I"f line l is tangent to the parabola at its vertex, which point must be on line l?"
A parabola opening upward with a tangent line on the vertex looks like an “underlined U” with the tangent line parallel to the x axis and having a constant y value. so the y value of the tangent line would always be the same. Line l is tangent at point (c,d) so it MUST always have the y value “d”. the only answer with the y value d is “A”, (-5,d).

Answer to the question labeled 11 with the graph:

“The histogram shows the number of pets owned by the 27 students in a class. What is the median number of pets owned by the students?”
the first line shows that 7 students own 0 pets, the second shows that 5 students own 1 pet, the third that 6 students own 2 pets, the fourth that 4 students own 3 pets, the fifth that 2 students own 4 pets, and the sixth that 3 students own 5 pets. The list we have now to take the median of is 000000011111222222333344555.
All we have to do is find the middle number, which is 2.

I cant figure out the triangle problem yet. I will post an answer If I find one.

Some feedback based on the kind of problems you seem to have trouble with: It seems that these are all problems that I personally would look at and feel stumped and not know where to start. I think all you need to do when you come across a problem like this is start writing things down from the question. you will eventually start to notice patterns and the path to the answer may become clearer. Don’t spend too much time on problems that you don’t know where to begin, and come back to them later once you have solved all of the problems that won’t take too much time. You don’t have to know how to solve the problem before you start writing things down. Hope this helps!

was aiming for 2000+ in this first time ,but if I achieve 1900+ im ok with it,I plan to take it next year.Any last tips to get the nearest possible of a 600 in CR or W.

Scan Erica Meltzer’s Critical reader top SAT vocabulary.
And for a last minute vocabulary squeeze, I recommend Barron’s 2400 high frequency 12 word lists. (The ones after the maths 2400 club grand mixture)
