Official 2015 Penn Waitlist Discussion

does upenn care about 2nd semester grades for waitlist?

Thank you McGrounded!! Wow–so nobody is getting off until mid-June? That’s incredibly rough–they must have made decisions one way or another with 2400 people on the list for those who are definitely off, and I think I’d rather know now than live in this agony of waiting for my top choice until mid-June. To be honest, rejection hurts, but I’d rather be putting my full step forward into meeting people from W&M and signing up for limited-space preorientation trips rather than worrying about whether I’m actually going there or not.

Oh bandgeek24601, I totally agree. I don’t think I will find a happy end to all this torturous waiting. I also agree that you would think that long before now, they know how many seats still need to be filled and who they have selected to fill them.
I do know that they tell you for sure if you are not being asked when everything is closed, so it could linger even longer. W&M is great school with a beautiful campus, But like you I don’t think you can drag your heels a lot longer.

Accepted today at 4:13. I wish you all luck, and just hang in there.

chillgen - congrats! did you get a call or an email? Wharton? Thanks.

Hey chilligen, did you recieve a call? And what exactly did they say?

Also accepted at 4:13 today via email (no phone call). Yay! chillgen, do you have any financial aid info yet?

Congrats to Chilligen & VanguardV !!
Can you share what states you guys are from, and what school (i.e. - Wharton) that you guys had applied to ??

I’m trying to figure out which ‘groups’ PENN is selecting from, if that in fact is what they do.

^agreed, hahah

CAS. Tennessee. International relations. I can’t lie. I’m super stoked.

Congratulations! *You have been admitted to the University of Pennsylvania. *Thank you for agreeing to remain on our Waiting List; your patience has been rewarded!

Oh, and no aid yet. I’m sure it’ll come with the envelope.

oh my god you guys congrats! now the waiting REALLY begins. Keep updating this thread people!

and vangaurdv–
where do you live?

hey chillgen and VanguardV, did you update upenn with a letter of demonstrated interest?

congratulations. glad to see you’re having your dreams come true.

I know this board really helped me along the way, so I’m definitely willing to give back.
I sent a paragraph or two about how life was going and the activities surrounding it. And of course I added how willing I would be to accept. Then I received an NROTC scholarship in the meantime and immediately informed them of it. I know that might have been the deciding factor, but maybe it wasn’t. Basically I just tried to stay human and solidify the person behind the essays read long ago. It was much more important for me to stay true to myself than impress them, and I hope that shone through. Who knows what causes who to be accepted or not accepted, just hang in there. If you present yourself in the truest way possible, and still aren’t let in, then you can sleep knowing it wasn’t your best fit anyways (which isn’t a bad thing.)

Chilligen & VanguardV. You both must be over the moon with excitement and joy. Congratulations to each of you, so good things do come to those that wait and wait.
Hope my D will be in your shoes and also be accpeted. I want this for her as badly as she does.

Best of luck to each of you.

i got off the penn waitlist yesterday for the wharton school of business. they called my house in the morning to see if i was still interested, and i got an email later that night. i’m not sure if i’ll be going though, because i’m committed at dartmouth, but good luck everyone!

xlxixlxix

Congratulations!!! On Dartmouth?? Sounds like your heart has made up its mind.

When do you need to tell Penn that you will or will not attend?

Thanks for letting us know that you heard, and the how and when too.

@xlxixlxix:

If you were committed to Dartmouth… Why didn’t you drop the UPenn waitlist before?
You are not helping the others waiting here… :(
