Anything new?

Just thinking the same thing, nothing on our end. I’ll let you know if we hear, please do the same. I hope the “collective we” gets rewarded for our patience.

Has anyone heard anything???

Can’t believe waitlist lasted this long. Ever since I saw the extended waitlist email, I’ve pretty much considered myself rejected but somewhere I have this teeny shard of hope still… Hopefully they’ll offer us guaranteed transfer admission just for sticking through this (true story–happened to a kid in my grade for Cornell. But he found out about that in April.) I don’t know if I would apply for transfer, but it would be a nice thing to have.

^ Guaranteed transfer is a program unique to Cornell–Penn doesn’t have such a program.

I haven’t heard anything. But guys… this week… x_x

Is this the week we are to be notified? Really one way or the other??

We have been holding off on sending anymore non-refundable money to where my D is suppose to be come August.

My S just got the call and the portal has the congratulatory email. Good luck to everyone!

Discontinued. :-/

Here’s what it said:

I regret to tell you that you are being discontinued from the University of Pennsylvania Wait List. We had kept a relatively small number of students like yourself for whom we hoped spaces would open. It is now clear that we will not be able to offer you a place at Penn entering fall 2011.

Thank you for your interest in Penn, you have my best wishes for continued success.

Sincerely,

Eric J. Furda C’87
Dean of Admissions

We heard. She is in and accepted to Wharton. Deadline for reply is July 6. Thanks to everyone for being supportive and best wishes to all.

JenAn1 Was your son on wait list at Duke and Penn? Did he just get into Penn? If so, what school at Penn will he be attending. Interesting how it is the same small pool of kids wait listed at the same schools…

tigershockeylax

CAS at Penn. Yes. My son was on the extended waitlist at Duke.

JenAn1 Congratulations. My son is going to SEAS at Penn (accepted 5/19)

Congrats to everyone who got in, for those who didn’t, it’s Penn’s loss.

Congrats mcgrounded! I can see how much you wanted this from your posts I was amazed by your patience and your continued hope.

shaheirunderdog writes “Congrats to everyone who got in, for those who didn’t, it’s Penn’s loss”. I agree and would like to add that it’s also the loss of all the Waitlist/RD schools.

tigershockeylax, mcgrounded and bandgeek these last 3 months were tough for us all but for me(for my son), your posts were extremely helpful on this thread and others. Bandgeek’s “may the odds be in your favor” and mcgrounded’s hopes that the “collective we” gets rewarded for our patience kept things upbeat. Have a good summer.
