I know of fantastic applicants from Norway who were asked “have you invented anything widely known?” in their interview and thought the process from then on in was silly and hopeless. Yet I never received those questions, and just applying to MIT (and other colleges in the US) has been a great honour for me. To be accepted is ineffably great - I’m looking forward to seeing y’all in Cambridge next year!

All I can say is: University of Maryland, here I come! And I don’t mean that in any condescending sense. Maryland is a fantastic school and is now my first choice as I believe I will get rejected from most of my other top-choice schools. General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations, etc: MIT was not necessarily my first choice school, but I’m still a little disappointed. I wasn’t expecting anything so I guess I’ll just have to wait until March 30 for the other decisions. I still have decent options & honors programs at some other schools, so I’ll be happy wherever I end up. Congrats to everyone that got in, Good Luck to the Waitlisters, and keep your heads up rejectees. Life goes on. :)
