Hello All,
Are there any other freshman/sophomore college students that would like to start an official Colgate thread for this transfer cycle. I would love to have some discussion regarding decision dates, chances and more!
I applied but I am pretty sure I’m not getting in. My teacher is sick and she didn’t submit my recommendation letter yet. The email says that I will be at a significant disadvantage if I have an incomplete application.
When do the decisions come out?
@transfer3018 I believe they come out the end of April/early May by mail. I’m unsure if they will also let us know by email/portal
I applied too! I am kinda nervous because there wasn’t a supplemental essay.
I just called them and they said my recommendation letter will still be considered. My teacher sent it today.
The admissions office said decisions would start releasing on April 24. I didn’t hear properly so I don’t know if they release all of them on April 24 or on a rolling basis
That’s great @transfer3018 I wish you the best of luck! Well, at least we have a date now
@transfer3018 By email or regular mail?
@LookAtMe Ahh. Totally forgot to ask them that. I’ll call them on Monday and check out last year’s thread in the meantime.
I think it’s mailing for domestic students, email for international ones
Does anyone know if Colgate transfers online class credits? I took a bunch of really hard online classes and don’t want to lose those credits.
I know that some Ivy Leagues and top Liberal Arts colleges don’t allow them
First of all, you cannot lose whatever value you extracted from the courses. You took them (and paid for them) for that experience and I hope you were and are satisfied.
Are these courses substitutes for the value of Colgate professor-led courses such that you would hope to sidestep them on the back of an online course? Is that your question?
If so, I suggest you liaise with the Office of Admission and see what they and the relevant department(s) have to say. That’s all that matters, assuming you are interested in course credit for anything you have done and will do.
Go ‘gate!
Decisions are released Tuesday at 7:45pm! Good luck everyone!
Hey guys, crazy question. Have you emailed your counselor? And if you have, was the Dean of Admissions cc’ed?
@transfer3018 what hard courses did you took online?
@NASA2014 I took Calc 1 and 2, Business Stats, and a few gen ed courses like Anth, communication studies online.
I guess could retake them if I get into Colgate but I would prefer it if they transferred.
I could ask if they will accept online courses. I live near the university and know the department very well.
@NASA2014 Yes please. Thank you. But I will see if I get accepted first. Just one more day!
