***Official 2020 Georgetown RD Applicant Thread

I meant congratulations to NYC - so exciting for you.

the waitlist letter was pretty thick (DE) 3 papers. How big is the waitlist? Is it common to get off?

Waitlisted in PA. It was indeed priority mail.

I am sorry Becca123. I wish you all the best in landing at the school that will support your talents and help you develop your skills. Good things await you.

@xDragonFlyx - The waitlist letter includes a percentage acceptance of candidates from waiting list document.

Accepted from MD! Also was accepted to JHU and Rice! Hard choices to make now

For those of us that haven’t received mail yet, can you all answer how many students get off the waitlist? @xDragonFlyx @zimzamzoom

um is there a difference in postage between denied, accepted, and waitlisted letters?

@whitespace Sure thing! These are all in terms of percentage of applicants on waitlist. It goes all the way back to 2010, but I’ll give you up to 2013 because that’s (probably) more relevant.
EDIT: So apparently CC hates my link. I took a screenshot of what I typed up here. (Take out the spaces.) http://p u u. sh/nULDI/b03f8bb7d0.png

I wish my mail was delivered earlier…

I’m from Southern California, and I was wondering if any of you knew approx. when it should arrive?? I would really appreciate a response!

@zimzamzoom Thank you! That seems very all over the place. My policy with this stuff has been to treat all waitlists like a rejection, but it’s hard when it’s your top choice. I guess I’ll find out on Monday!

@whitespace - I’m still holding on to the little bit of hope that is the waitlist, lol. A few people from my school have gotten in off of the waitlist, so time will tell… Oh well! I’m hoping you get something better than what I received.

@nm2020 - Parts of SoCal are in the two-day range, and others are in the three-day range. Hopefully you hear back soon!

@zimzamzoom THANK YOU!! I was also curious how to find out which range you are in? Is it online?

Nothing in MA! I guess I’ll have to wait for Monday

@nm2020 No problem!! I live in PA in the two-day range. Yes, it is online! You can find your specific range here by typing in Georgetown’s zip code (20057).

The mail just came and no letter. I’m in Los Angeles which is in two day priority shipping from 20057 according to the USPS website. Oh well, hoping for Monday!

Nothing here in the Tampa area (2 day zone). Is this a bad sign since it appears they are priority mailing accepted/wait-listed letters?

I think that since the mail went out in the afternoon on thursday, it technically started on friday and two days would be monday

I was waitlisted but I’ll take it! (Again, I’m 30 miles/40 mins from GTown)
