No problem
Just hit submit. AAAAHHHHH. Iām so nervous I might puke. Iām sure Iāll get rejected or go back and see 20 million errors in my essays and maybe even that I did everything wrong and just YIKES. Iāll probably stay like this until April, haha.
Also, to have decisions come out on April Foolsā Day is just cruel. I hope they donāt prank us, haha.
I had my interview last night. I feel like I have a real chance for the first time. I have been nervous about haveing a low SAT Reasoning, but I had a good connection with my interviewer. We both did foreign exchange in Germany and even lived in the same area! Iām just relieved to be finally finished with the whole application process.
@cornellaspirant People actually started receiving admissions decisions on March 30th last year. April 1st is generally the last day youāll receive notifications from any school.
@thegoldlocket Just to let you know, I applied EA with a 33 ACT, a 4.0 UW (before senior year lol that changed) and a 4.3 W GPA, and only had completed a 780 US History Subject test, and I was accepted. They say on their website that they will consider an application complete in EA WITHOUT all three, assuming that you plan to take three subject tests in the fall of your senior year. In RD, however, they expect three subject tests. If you havenāt been able to take some due to financial or situational constraints, they ask that you write them a letter explaining the situation. People certainly have been accepted with less than three, but they want to see three. Call admissions if you have any questions.
@JaySwam Georgetown didnāt receive my TRANSCRIPT until thanksgiving, it got lost in the mail. I got an email from my admissions representative and sent it within 24 hours of finding out, and I was still accepted EA. I would call admissions to be sure, but if they get it, it shouldnāt impact your admissions decision. Iām living proof of that!
Also for anyone wondering, Georgetown and many other schools that use mail send decisions out one or two days early. This is to prevent anyone from having to wait past the deadline. For example, EA was supposed to come out on the 15th of December but I got my letter the day before that (for reference, Iām in PA)
Just to make sure, did anyone send in the application on the 11th? I know the twitter account and the admissions website said that they changed the deadline to the 11th, but I didnāt see that anywhere elseā¦Also, the admissions website now says that applications were accepted until the 10th this year. Crying bc georgetown was the most beautiful college campus I visited (and I visited Princeton too)
I did and so did a couple of my friends. So thereās some solace if you need it.
HELP
okay so i submitted two teacher recs:
-english teacher (soph&senior teacher)
-science teacher (soph teacher)
but the science teacher went in labor few days before the deadline and she told me that sheāll submit them but she didnātā¦ even after reminding her she forgot cuz you know sheās having a babyyy
and iām applying to the nursing program and i just realized that the requirements for teacher recs are: junior/senior teacher & science/math teacher (for nursing)
iām panicking right nowā¦ what do i do?? :(( there goes georgetown hahahahah (slams keyboard&flips table)
uhhh call georgetown undergraduate admissions, theyāll advise you on what you should do
Did anyone get notifications/emails from GT? Iāve received an invitation for interview but no other emailsā¦
Had the interview but not sure how to check if the application is complete, i am assuming they will send a email if they find something missing? Does anyone know how to check?
@dudefromnowhere In your georgetown application portal, you can check whether certain parts (like teacher recs) are in. If theyāre missing a transcript, theyāll email you because it most likely got lost in the mail. Mine was lost, but I was able to send it in via email directly to my admission rep about three weeks after the deadline
@collegebound, how did you find out who your admissions rep was? Is there a list of territoryās somewhere?
Hello to all. I also applied for RD, to SFS.
Sitting at a 35/2280 with 720 & 770 tests.
Iām crossing my fingers but I know it can be a crapshoot. Good luck to everyone!
For me, it says that my online teacher/counselor recs are ānot started yetā on my Georgetown applicant portal. However, my teachers/counselor sent their recs in via mail so is this normal?
@northstarfx Georgetown was the only school that didnāt have their admissions representatives publicly posted, or at least I had a lot of difficulty finding it. I called admissions during normal business hours and they happily gave me the information, but I did have to call to find out.
@ClassOf2020x Your portal only gets updated if your teachers set up an account and uploaded it through the portal. My math teacher did it this way, and it notified me when his was in. However, my english teacher and counselor sent theirs in by mail, and while I never got confirmation that they were received I think they will notify you if you have a required letter missing, as was the case with me and my transcript
@northstarfx I had the same situation with my counselor rec, but my GC assured me that she sent it in. So I donāt think it shows up unless they upload it online.
