@CDOESenior2k16 The password is “gaap”! It was on the back side of one of the sheets you received in your acceptance envelope.
I am currently out of town-- is there any way I can find out my admission decision besides mail?
@mndt38 I feel so stupid now :)) All of their different websites are so unnecessarily confusing. Thank you!!
The GAAP calls have started. I got one two hours ago!
are calls coming from a 202 (DC) number?? I missed a call from a NJ # and i am scared it was gtown!
Does GAAP call everyone admitted, including international applicants?
@aoremu my call came from a CA cell phone number! Students are using their cell phones I think
@ComputerAge what are the calls about?
@jorjimarie They ask if you have any questions. And they congratulate you. I didn’t have any questions, but my caller was super nice and so I said thanks and we ended the call. Mine came from a PA cell phone number, so don’t be alarmed if it’s not DC!
@aoremu I also missed my call, but she left a message! If you didn’t get a message I’m guessing it wasn’t the GAAP phone call
@CDOESenior2k16 No problem! I was also having trouble finding the password since I was too excited yesterday to actually sit down and read the stuff in the letters until this morning.
I haven’t received any emails or notifications so far. It feels like the admission office just threw away my application without paying any attentions… I’m so frustrated right now.
@mndt38 Same :))
@Summer1998 same. Are you an international applicant? GU says that we can call the AO on Apr.1 for the decision.
@aloevera13579 I’m calling the office today. This is so annoying since Georgetown is my #1 choice. Similar situations happened during EA, and when they called the office they were all informed with deferral decisions. Pretty disrespectful if I had to say.
@Summer1998 I am also a deferred EA applicant. I also called the office and told I was deferred. I guess this time if we call the AO,maybe all of us will be told rejected…
Same for our child – and Georgetown was first choice. No letter or email in December (snail mail arrived two weeks later) and nothing this round either. Not the most efficient or equitable way to notify applicants who worked hard on these non-Common App apps. If April 1 is really the first day such kids are invited to call, that’s nearly a week after some domestics and several days after internationals received some form of notice. And last night calls were going out to some of those accepted. Clearly, some kids have fallen through Georgetown’s antiquated cracks. I feel for them all.
@Valdog So what do you think about those who fell in the antiquated cracks?(I am one of those applicants) Do they still have a chance to be told that they are admitted when they call the AO? or are they just rejected without being notified?
@aloevera13579 Wish I had helpful info to convey. Admissions told our child by phone that they wouldn’t help (not even by email, as they’ve done with internationals) before Friday afternoon. I’m a little stunned. Good luck to you. This may sound like sour grapes (though, who knows, perhaps there’s a looming, lost acceptance at play for our kid) but we are left with a pretty unpleasant taste in our mouths after two rounds of poor communications from Georgetown. We have a US address. Hard to imagine there may still be good news at this point – and hard to watch child stressed/down over it when everyone else in our midst has been notified by mail or email.
@Valdog I was deferred early action and got my letter actually right on the 15th. However, scheduling my interview was extremely hard and my interview was actually on dec 15th as well. Hope you hear soon !!!
