***Official 2020 Georgetown RD Applicant Thread

Okay just got off the phone with Admissions because i hadn’t received a letter again today and i was worried that they might have had my address wrong or something. So they checked and it was correct but, i was told by this admissions person that not all of the letters went out at once. They have been shipping them in batches so that the last batch arrives by or before April 1st. This is why they won’t help you because it’s very likely that you are just in a later batch… So don’t freak out… it’s not a bad sign. It’s just how they are doing it.

Does anyone know if roommates are assigned randomly? I thought they were but somebody just posted on Facebook this whole status about themselves and that they were looking for a roommate??

Just got my acceptance letter today! Won’t attend though.

@Valdog thanks very much for the information

@kappabetagamma where are you going instead?

@jorjimarie Stanford!

still no any notice ( international applicant

Is there anyone who is an Asian applicant and get the decision mail from GeorgetownU?

@JoshuaLin same. I guess you are an Asian applicant?

@aloevera13579 yes

@JoshuaLin it seems that the only choice we have now is keep waiting until Apr.1 then calling the AO. :frowning:

@whitespace its okay! We still have our ivies

Hey! Was anyone else invited to the multicultural weekend ?!

@CDOESenior2k16 I think it’s like pretty much every other college where you have two options. You can request people to be your roommate or you can be randomly assigned one!

Nope, not quite! Georgetown is famous for its CHARMS matching survey thats really in depth, I’m going to wait for that to find a roommate

you are talking about roommates but I still do not know my GU decision… :frowning:

@aloevera13579
Are you an international applicant, and is your registered email with the ao a Hotmail/outlook one?

@kr9031 I am an Asian applicant and I have not received an email or a mail.
:frowning:

We live in the northeast and my son has yet to receive his letter. He did call GU and the AO indicated that he can call at noon today and get his decision over the phone. They also indicated that his letter would arrive by today (he did confirm that they had the right address). We assume a deny given the lateness in his letter, but is this normal for GU to mail decisions in batches like this? It seems odd as most colleges that mail decisions seem to do so at the same time. Does anyone know the rationale? It has been a stressful period of waiting while others received their decisions starting last Friday!

@jorjimarie I was invited! I’m going!! Are you??
