Decisions were mailed last year on the 27th in order for them to arrive in time by April 1st. Some who lived close by received their letters on the 28th or 29th, but we should really expect them to be here by April 1st. Good luck!
So what day should we expect them to be mailed? 24th seems too early then, no?
No one knows what day they will be sent.
What we do know is that the Admissions Office is closed on Good Friday, March 25. I know this first-hand from calling the office last week. Note, they are open on Saturday, March 26. But I would be surprised if they are putting tens of thousands of pieces in the mail on Saturday.
To me, that makes the two most likely days for mailing decisions to be either Thursday, March 24, or Monday, March 28. My guess is the 24th, based on Georgetown’s past practice of mailing things at the end of the week, rather than the start. But it really is just a guess.
Does anyone know how decisions will be released to people who have permanent addresses in the US but mailing addresses in another country? Would it be online or through mail, and to which address?

I’m guessing you’ll get the international email. The reasoning behind that is likely that they can’t rely on international mail to get it there by April 1, which would be no different in your case.
@whitespace I hope that’s the case! It takes at least a week (sometimes two) for mail to arrive here!
We just mailed something to friends that live in an island in the South Pacific and it will take at least two months for it to arrive. I understand.
Oh no… I just called admissions and they told me that they would be sent through mail to the foreign address. :((
@Aralis , I remember during EA that someone didn’t get their letter like 4-5 days after we knew that they had been mailed out from Georgetown. That person called and GW admin advised them of their acceptance. You may have to do that. (You may have to call multiple times to find the right person to tell you though)
Was there any “likely letters” or things of that nature sent out?
Hi Guys! I am an international applicant who is currently studying in the United States. I’ve applied for financial aid and submitted my CSS profile through College Baord. Is CSS profile the only document they required for international student?
I sort of think the 28th is more probable since they aim for April 1. Ah, guess we’ll know when they send it out!
I know for US applicants there was a lot that you had to submit through IDOC. Maybe create an account there and see if it asks you to submit anything?
Ugh I know that this is so irrelevant at this point but I can’t help but cringe at snail mail decisions. They’re incredibly stress-inducing, especially when different regions of the US receive their letters first (and then we all go on CC to talk about it). I really wish Gtown would offer an online student portal for domestic applicants-- it cuts down on all of the stress and constant waiting for the mail to come for days on end.
@radgreek I completely understand!
@radgreek @Cosmopolitian13 not to mention the waste of paper!
I really want to get in and the whole “chance me” thing isn’t worth it because it really is a crapshoot
Hi, does anyone know when decisions will be released?
I don’t know about mail. In a way, I kind of like it. It’s a different feeling logging in to an online portal than it is to run down to the mailbox every day.
