Thank you. Good luck to all!
they are out
Accepted with $20,000/y scholarship!
Daughter was waitlisted.
Accepted, $10,00/y.
Son accepted with $20,000/yr merit; 4.2 GPA, withheld test scores, off-campus alumna interview.
International student here! Accepted with 38000/yr. 1440 SAT.
Mixed feelings. Son admitted, although their calculation of our EFC is about 40% higher than FAFSA number, so it’s probably off the list.
How many’s Trustee’s Scholarships do they give out each year (merit=20k a year)?
Accepted officially today! 15 K merit. My daughter got an early write but didn’t know about scholarship until today. Stats for the person asking: She is dual citizen: Chile/USA. 4.1 weighted, no scores submitted, 11 AP/IB classes, honor roll 10th and 12th grade; tons and tons of volunteer hours in one philanthropy, school treasurer, 6 years NCL.
I got in. 69 K $ /yr. Estimated 3.4 K parent’s contribution. International student with 1460 SAT
Accepted w/ 15k yr merit: 3.3 UW/4.3 W GPA, 1480 SAT
Accepted with trustee’s scholarship (it seems like they gave a lot of these out)
ACT 31
GPA 3.8
waitlisted with 3.3 UWGPA and 1300 SAT.
Denied - 4.34 W; 3.9 UW. 32 ACT. 6 APs, 6 honors. Extensive volunteer hours, camp counselor, athlete (2 sports in school; plus high-level year-round club team), summer program in her career of interest; and haven’t seen but will assume positive letters of rec.
A little surprised as was counseled (and we thought too) that this was a target school. Accepted at other, more “selective” (i.e. much lower acceptance rate) schools.
I will add, however, that we did not do an official visit of the school, so could be considered ‘no demonstrated interest’ which could have impacted the application. (We live a plane ride away from CT).
So putting this out there for others to see that you just never know.
My D was accepted with the $20K Trustee scholarship. 3.9 UW, 4.8W. 1320 SAT. 4 APs, mostly honors. Very focused on theater and goes to a performing arts high school. i.e. not well rounded. We’ve been told schools like well rounded classes more than well rounded students. She made one visit over the summer and had an interview with the admissions counselor in our area. Does anyone know about the strength of the theater department?
@diamondparent Conn has a relatively small but highly regarded theater department. I think they have some kind of relationship with the Eugene O’Neil Theater. My son met with one of the theater professors and was quite impressed.
Thanks for that information @Ctguy1002
