*may not be completely accurate so don't blame me! :P

hey you guys know what, it says on the bottom that it may not be completely accurate. and believe what you think, its just something to help you prepare for college

and plus i think some of you are just mad that you found out that your scores are really low. hey its not my fault and plus im just trying to help, maybe you are just not IVY material.

I also agree @ public vs. private. I know children who go to private Catholic schools in the south that can not even hold a candle to the public schools in VA.
However, I can see that colleges look at the school. I purchased an extra official transcript to see what was actually being sent. The transcript showed how their gpa system worked along with the amt of students in those courses and the actual AP courses available. ( fortunately my s took all of them, but AP sciences, finished with physics and is not applying to the engineering field).
The transcript also showed the % of students traditionally accepted to IVY, top-tier, State (IS &OOS), and community colleges, thus giving the college an idea of how the school is

Just a note no sour grapes here, S was recruited by Princeton, Stanford, UP and by your scoring system he has over 130 pts. I am just saying private schools are not always giving 0 points.. Have you ever heard of TJHHS? It’s Public…no he doesn’t go there.

I tallied myself up and got less than 80. However, I am already accepted into one second-rate college - one that is a private out-of-state college. I don’t think this is too accurate.

“maybe you are just not IVY material.”
You are a freshman, right? Take a look at the ED thread and see who did NOT get in to Yale, and then tell us that you are definitely Ivy League material.

OK, I was going to defend you, until u declared that you own this thread.

You should be willing to hear other opinions if you start a thread, not everyone is going to give you KUDO’s.

I do thank you for the info and I think it is a glimpse into your parents world. However, if I am correct you are at private, an Asian have parents who are profs. Thus, u have at least 16 extra pts, maybe up to 26(if you are a legacy-both), none of them have anything to do with the student you are, but reflective of what your parents have done.

This rubric is wrong. Colleges aren’t allowed to have stuff like this. University of michigan used to have it, got sued, and now has to view each applicant “hollistically.”

this thing works for figuring out how solid a candidate you are, but I don’t find it realistic at all. My score was a 142 and i was being extremely hard on myself. and i got deferred from Brown ED, so i hope that all people who use this don’t assume that b/c you get a high score, you can get into an Ivy.
