Unfortunately I did not get accepted into architecture. This was my second year applying also :(. I took some transferable arch. classes and all my general edu is done. I have a 3.8 gpa. If I may ask, how many transferable architecture classes did you have? I take it your portfolio is what really sealed the deal :)

@College of The Desert I have taken 3 arch design classes
2 technical drafting classes
renderings and delineation courses
history of arch
intro to arch
and an environmental control system class.
so I think ten total. This was my fourth year @ College of the desert

physics and calc were the closest thing I could get to the correspondence of SLOS’s structural classes.

My portfolio took me close to about 200 hours…like a typical architect student all nighter’s and patience is what helped me.

I’m posting this as an update for future transfer students who may find themselves in a similar situation.

I ended up getting accepted to UCB, UCD, UCI, UCSD, and rejected from UCLA.

My SLO Decision:

Rejected

Major: Mechanical Engineering
In/Out State: In
Gen Ed/Prereqs: Completed
GPA: 3.86 (currently 3.88)

TA for physics here at CC for over a year. Experience working as mechanic fixing construction tools/equipment. Adequate community service. Internship summer before transfer at LBL (not on SLO app)

I really didn’t complete any of Cal Poly’s recommended courses for the major. I’ve been shooting for UC requirements.
