Yes... though the SAT IIs are good.

Can we submit ACT + SAT IIs if we want, even though most schools only require SAT IIs with the SAT I? Or is that excessive and pompous?

poubelle- a lot of schools still require sat 2s with the ACT

So... when sending SAT score reports, can one choose to send SAT I and not II, and vice versa; or is it all sent at once?

poubell: Everything is sent at once.

I decided to pull together some interesting observations about the average CC ACT taker. According to the first 30 responses of scores:

We as a group are best at reading. We have an average score of 33.2963, and 6 of us received a perfect reading score.

We are second best at English, with an average score of 33.1852 and 5 perfect scores.

Our next best area is math. Our average score is 32.1852, and there were 4 perfect scores.

As a group, we are worst at science, with an average score of 31.4444 and only 3 perfect scores among us.

Also of interest:
4 people received perfect scores in at least two areas, and one of them obtained perfect scores in 3 sections.

5 people received a composite score of 30
Nobody had a composite of 31
4 people had a composite of 32
5 people had a composite of 33
7 people had a composite of 34
6 people had a composite of 35

Note: 3 people only provided their composite score, so I factored them into the composite score averages but left them out of the averages per section.

Disclaimer: Please dont yell at me if I didnt do this in the correct way. I have never had a statistics (or whatever this would apply to) class and I am just making some casual, unscientific observations.

Findings: WE ROCK! :) You guys amaze me.

^ That is incredible! Fantastic job everyone.

Agreeed. Nice analysis

Thank you very much, danielsjang. I was a bit scared to post; I eas afraid I would receive a serious virtual tongue-lashing from the hardcore stats people I see around here so often.

I got a 34 composite;
My subscores were 36 R/36 E/33 Math/32 Science
which is pretty annoying as one more point would have meant a 35 :(.
My question is: how heavily are the subscores evaluated in context of the
composite? IE does the fact that this is nearly a 35 matter (at all).
Also, does this help or hurt my SAT scores of 1540 old SAT/ 2290 New Sat; or alternatively, should I submit both?
Finally, I didn't study much at all for this, nor was I familiar with the test format; I'm confident I could get a 35 if I took it again, but I'm kind of burned out on standardized test: In short, is studying for the ACT really worthwhile, or should I take it again?

Yeah... I also have the same questions.

For example, is there any significant difference between a 33,34,34,32 (33) and a 36,36,30,28 (33)? One is a 33.25 and the other is a 32.5.

If two people have the same score, let's say a 33.0, is the person with a couple 36s and lower scores (36,36,31,29) more impressive than another person's consistent ones (33,34,33,32)?

Do they convert the scores, or just put a number for all 33s (like, 33 converts to a 2200). By what method do they convert the scores, if at all?

Also, how good does a 36 Writing score look, considering that the only way to score a 36 is to get a 36 English score and a 12 on the essay (according to the "Real ACT Prep Guide"? I have (relatively) low SAT scores (2090, 2100 with highest from each), so I'm hoping my ACT score will help me...

My scores were INCREDIBLY lopsided...

Composite 33

English 36, Math 34, Reading 34, and SCIENCE 27!!!

Does anyone have any tips on raising science?

wonafido, did you get your scores in the mail?

My scores were posted on the internet on Wednesday, IvyLeagueORbust.

Does anyone know how to get a 31+ on Science?

I finally got my scores today.

Composite: 33
English: 29 (uggggh, ACT grammar sucks, I've always done well on SAT grmmar???)
Math: 35 (misread one question... dumbest mistake...)
Reading: 33 (pretty good for me)
Science: 33 (okay I guess)
Essay: 11 (I'm so happy, the ACT essays are so stupid I thought I did bad)
English/Writing: 30

I was really hoping for a 34-35, but this is acceptable. I'm still going to retake. Is my ACT score better than a 2210 (800 M, 700 V, 710 W) on the SAT?

No. Your SAT score is higher.

I have appliedand been accepted to some HBCU's Michigan, Michigan State and Juliard. I will be attending Morgan State University in Baltimore.

Your SAT is higher by 5 points lol -_-.

Composite: 33

English: 32
Math: 35
Reading: 34
Science: 30 <--- ***
Essay: 9 <-- -_-
Combined English: 30 <-- Good thing doesnt affect composite

Overall Happy with my scores!
