Official ACT June 11th thread

for the einstein passage, why did they choose to use the sun (it was a weird question...i think i said something about it giving off two kinds of radiation or light.)

The abstract said Monomorphic ratio was 1.0... Dimorphic was anything else. SO, the greatest monomorphic was the group with the most species on 1.0

I WANT TO SCREAM! FOR ICE CREAM! SO I CAN DROWN MY SORROWS!! ... hehe j/k.. but I do think that I either bombed majorly, or you guys aren't right all the time.

I thought the A+B+C was 50?

That would make the answer 22...was that one of the choices?

Or whatever that Acronym was...

If anyone remembers the einstein passage, that'd be great. I had a hard time with the first three-four on the einstein one.

What was the answer to the Orangatang question? (the first question on the last experiment).

The ones with the highest MHRH were the Gorillas, I believe.

This is correct. The question asked "which of the following has the greatest ratio?" Gorilla was correct.

I said because it was the biggest...

Hmm, That passage is all jumbled in my mind, really rushed through it

For the Grandma/Tomato passage, what did you replace for "wedge"?
-Division
-Intervention

I put intervention. I dont know why. Did anyone else put that?

No, it was definately division.

yeah, does anyone else remember einstein questions?

Im pretty positive that sun question was because the sun is visible during a solar eclipse... not sure though.

I got 22 for the a+b+c question, you got 28, then needed 50, so the final answer is 22

1.1 is wrong...i put that too at first because it was really easy to misread the graph (it was 1.1 tall but that wasn't the ratio---the ratio was the x axis, not the y)....the answer to the ratio problem was 1.4, not 1.1

I remember most of answers...provided you can recall the questions...

Orangutang was I think 1.4 (don't trust me on that)...

For the sun question, I chose "mass". Verify?

I agree with Tsmall, it had to of been 1.4

TSA, was it the question with what's in the numerator and the denominator? I said it was mass, and that it was a unit; not sure though.

a lot of you are saying growth was temp. But I thought they talked about how cold blood need to eat five time more food to grow, so dinsosaurs could not have been cold blood.

Therefore, I put food....but I didn't read the entire passage. Maybe later on they said temp

yeh thats what I put too

Tsmallzxc, I agree. The ratio was 1.4 because it was .1 less than 1.5, and the ratio is M/F

the sun because it was the most visible blah blah blah...they neeeded to be able to see it at all times, not just a lunar eclipse i'm pretty sure (or at least on the 2nd experiment). anyone else knwo this question.
