What did you think- hardest questions?

I thought the question asking about the distance between the four towns on the straight road was one of the most difficult, just because it was time consuming.

I think i got that one, but I thought at one was also a tad difficult. Can you try and repeat the question on the thread for everyone. What did you get?

Um, I’ll try. There is a straight road between two towns, A and D, that is 60 miles long. Along this road, there are two cities that are 22 miles apart. B and C. If A to C is twice the distance of B to D, what is B to D?

^Delayed
The answer is 12. I dont exactly remember how I figured it out but it worked.

The difference between the two middle cities was 22, where the total distance was 40. It said that the distances from C to D (or w/e the names were) was twice that of A to B. There for x + 2x = (40 - 22), x = 6. 2x = 12.

12 was definitely the correct answer… I don’t know about you, but I thought that math was relatively easy this time around

Y’all are right, turns out I misread the question. That ones on me :/

What about these two questions. The one with the period and the one with the ellipse?

Loudest trumpet, thanks for showing the work. I agree with both you and cengel1996. Delayed, thanks for showing the work. What else were difficult questions.i am so gd" damn bad at recalling things. I know there were other hard ones, especially in the fifties.

I agree; the math section seemed to be easier. However, I couldn’t figure out the probability question that was toward the end. I spent the probably 20 minutes on that question–20 minutes I would have usually spent checking the test over–so I’m hoping I didn’t make careless errors in other math questions. I never did end up getting that question though, and I doubt I guessed correctly. So with that question being wrong and not spending any of the time checking over, this wasn’t my best test. Anyway, after that pointless rant, yes I did believe the math was easier for the most part.

Also what about the probability one at the end with the spinner and bag of marbles?

The math section was honestly the biggest joke. Finished with like 30 mins left…

Oh I got 3/4 for the probability one and I know it’s right

^taytay If I remember correctly I got 2pi for the period one. And the ellipse one I believe was x^2/9 + y^2/16 = 1

Probability Question: There’s a spinner that has equal areas of green, blue, purple, and yellow sections. There’s a bag that has 3 green, 4 blue, and 5 purple marbles. 12 marbles total. What are the odds you will choose different colors?

I got 3/4

Wasn’t the period 4pi?

I also got 12 for the abcd distance one.
What did you guys get for the rewriting of 0<sq root x < 9 ? ( I think that was the problem). Also for the adult ticket child ticket each adult is 7 and kid is 3, how many adult tix were there question, what was the answer? I put 150 but think that’s wrong. Also, for the question that asked about raising the book price by 50 cents and the new equation, what did you get? Thanks!!!

Yea, for that probability one with the bag of marbles and spinner, I guessed 1/3.
I literally just messed around with the numbers and somehow got 1/3 and went with it.
I think I found the probability of getting one color on the spinner times getting possible colors other than the one picked and repeated it 4 times.
And the ellipse one, I picked the one that was exactly the same but different middle operation sign, + to a -. I got it wrong though, a friend said it was the one with - in front of the x^2 and everything else the same.
What about the n question regarding how many total hours the class read the books? It was the 3rd one in the set of 3 questions over that chart given

Gleek:

1 < x < 81

I think I got 150 for the ticket one.

1.5x + 44
