I guess I'll start this thread since it's not up yet. Overall, I thought this section was fairly easy. I believe that the prose fiction section was the easiest. I ran out of time on the last section.

Opinions, projections, and questions are welcome.!

The string theory one was really hard for my brain to comprehend so quickly…I do not care for physics! I wish they were all as easy as the banana one…

The string theory one was really easy for me (all of you who said it was hard probably said so due to the time constraints and it being the last passage). 5/10 of the questions were just about the beliefs of author and making accurate implications while 2 or 3 of them just focused on the author’s viewpoint.

Speaking of which, was the author’s viewpoint “Controversial” for #1?

Actually, no. I put controversial since the author first wrote about the prominence of string theory, followed by bringing up possible flaws in the theory and the backlash caused between the elitist physicists and the orthodox mathematicians. =

In the passage where about the 70 year and the guy living together. What did you guys put as his reaction to the question. He was expecting it right?

@relativelysmart, ahhhh we disagree. I still think entrenched because although it is implied that the book could be controversial, there is no evidence that it has. The author was merely speculating on the potential the book had for creating shockwaves.

Well you have to admit that that question was just really bad. The one option regarding prominence was definitely true, along with the fact that it was rather controversial, ALONG with the fact that the entrenched option was also viable.

I completely agree. I didn’t even consider controversial as an option though…god that question really screwed with my mind. Hopefully the curve is -1 → 36 (which, if I recall correctly, it usually is). I read the entire passage 5 or 6 times because of that question. I went with entrenched but felt fairly confident about it.
