I'm mad, with a 34 on both math and english you would think I would be smart enough to break 27 on the other sections....

wow...that cruel....that means that a 33 is low for harvard? 1460? umm....the rep from H said the average ACT range is 29-34...so...don't know if that scale is correct, UCali...

That scale is for UC schools, Harvard's might be slightly different...

you cannot take the writing ACT test by itself.

Also, an ACT score without writing cannot be combined with writing scores from other tests...

For example, I want to apply to Cornell, which only accepts ACT with writing.......

Let's say I took the ACT in december 04 and got a 35
but Cornell will not look at this december 04 score because it does not have writing.

If I got a 33 in feb 05 with the writing test, that would be the score that Cornell would accept. You cannot combine the writing test score from feb with test scores from dec.

sigh.. This proves how much I suck at the ACT.

Just got my scores by mail today: 31 composite. ..and 1460 SAT.

32 35 30 27
Damn science is always killing me. Oh well.

ok...u call that bad?....31 = really good....imho...

Yeah ACT sucks dilhole. I got a 31 on that and a 1470 on SAT I.

the ACT does suck. it stresses stupid details too much and pressures you with time as if speed measures your academic developement.

no one in my school is taking the SAT....is that bad?....i'm the only one in my school taking the SAT IIs.......the highest in my school was 33....guess that shows how bad my school really is....T_T

wow, i can't imagine being upset with high 30's. I only got a 30comp 35E, 35R, 24S, and 25M... DO I have time to bring mine up? I'm a sophomore and took the test in October..

Hey Swimmer Carrie there is a thread where you can post your times...if ya want. Search: swimmer

god. i still havnt gotten my score report yet....even though i know what i got..i want to know my subscores!!!

i still dont know what i got...not posted on internet

I took mine in Oct. but here it is anyway:

33 composite
36 english
32 math
34 reading
28 science

I think I got a 36 in english because of my dad's poor usage of the language--I always have to correct him.

Actually a lot of people who study this stuff says the ACT is much better than the (old) SATs, that's why the SATs changed and the ACTs stay the same.

Hmm...
got a 35 composite,
34 english
34 math
36 science
36 reading
in October, no prep.
I think the trick to science, Squirrel888, is to not be afraid. Sounds dumb, but I really freaked out for the first few minutes in there until I realized that they make really simple science questions look really scary and complicated. And it might help to prep so you don't get so nervous-- I didn't know there was science until like the day before I took the test, so that threw me as well.

What is considered a "good/great score" for the composite? And can someone please post the correlation between ACT and SAT scores?

EDIT: Nvm about second question. Just saw UCaliGirl9's post. However, please answer the 1st question. =) Thanks.

good for vast majority of places is 30 and above, great is 34+...average is what 21?

Is anyone getting early scores?

List your February scores!!
