adgo45 excellent shot at both Cornell and WashU based solely on test scores. If the rest of your application is comparable you are in!

my school is extremely competitive with an SAT average of 2100. I think i can manage a 36 on the next test with a bit of practice on the math and science, my two major fields.

wat tha fack 09/12 on writing…

Someone in my school got a 9. I didn’t think it was possible…

11 on writing…How does writing play into your ACT score?

Omg omg yesss just received scores today (I took standby) I got a 35! SOOO HAPPY totally unexpected (lol) and surprised after raising from a 32 in December with no prep : D

English: 34

=DDDDDDDDDD NO MORE ACT’s… even though this was my first.

I’m tested!! I get my scores in half an hour!!! finally…

Any reason to believe that this test was particularly harder or easier than the average ACT exam?

I thought the math and science part were pretty hard.

Just like last time. I am content. I guess it wasn’t a fluke…

how do you well on this thing?

Wow, I totally hate CC. I got a composite of 29 (just because of dang science, I didn’t finish and got 25 there) and a 29’s pretty good, it’s in the 94th percentile but then I come on here and I see everybody with 32+ some with 34s their first time, it makes me feel like a complete loser and totally inadequate. How do you guys do it? Tips for the science? Everything else was 30+ with highest in reading with a 33. Also, did anyone have their calculator programmed to do distance formula and whatnot for them? I’m thinking that would save a lot of time if added up and in turn, hpefully improve math to save my butt in case I screw up science again.

english 27
math 23
science 25
reading 32
essay 8
english/essay 26

…wow im ashamed ! compared to all of you smarties

Like so many others, I also got a 35 on English, 8 on the writing. What gives? The only critiquing comment I was given said that my essay acknowledged counterarguments but didn’t discuss them. Everything else was positive. It really seems to me like the writing test is somewhat flawed.

i also got a 35 on english, 9 on essay, and exact same comment as yours, joedirt.

it sucks, and i agree that it probably is flawed. luckily it doesn’t matter that much.

I didn’t even give any counter arguments and got a 9. They didn’t even mention that I should have included them. How the heck do they grade?

32 writing (not as good as you guys’s, but… still) and i got a 8 on the essay too… guess we can’t really find out what the essay person’s thinking when he/she’s grading it.
