*OFFICIAL ACT SCORES THREAD* Sept 16th

ahhhhhh i have been counting down the days since last saturday for this day to come. I NEED TO SEE MY SCORES!
and of course.. they are not available..

HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO WAIT A WEEK!?!?!?!

27!!!!! damn, I am sooo ****ed off!!! I am only 1 point away from being qualified Florida Academic Scholarship, which provided 100% of tuition for any Florida public universities. Oh well, it's only my first try, and I vow to get >28 next time!!!! ugh!!!!!

math 35
english 35
reading 34
science 36

composite 35

ahh im too scared to check. im just really nervous becuase i thought that they were easy, easier than the april and february tests...could it be becuase i did at least 10 practice tests to prepare? i dont know...im probably going to wait until my parents get home...just for moral support

does the essay bump the english???

omg i got a 30
english:30
math:35
reading:31
science:25!!!!!!!!
should i even turn this in into admission?
I already got 790 in SAT2 BIO, CHEM, and Math IIC
will they think it is a fluke.

I, too, am getting the message that my scores are not available. Could it have to do with the fact that I took the test out-of-state?

I would just like to post a bright story for those who aren't coming back with glowing scores as compared to the typical CC student.

My son scored a 27 on his ACT and is attending a state university. With the myriad of scholarships he was able to accumulate last year, he has already covered the costs of 3.5 years of college (room AND board). So don't get discouraged if you don't have those elite scores. You can still get lots of scholarship money if you tap into the right resources and if you have good grades/well-rounded EC's.

Best wishes to all!!

:| I am literally the only person I know whose scores were unavailable today.

AGH. I shelled out the $50 (or whatever) to retake it in October anyway, but I am going to be pretty upset if I wound up with a 35 or a 36 on the September test.

Kind of a dilemma...here are my scores from the 3 times I've taken the test:

4/06: --32-- (35eng, 34math, 29rdg, 28sci) 9 writing
4/06(state): --33-- (33eng, 35math, 30rdg, 34 sci)
9/06: --34--(32eng, 34math, 35 rdg, 33 sci) an improvement, but barely a 34

Anyway, I improved a point to 34 due to a miraculous 35 in reading, however, neither my math or english scores are personal bests. Do colleges really consider these more important...should I send more than one score?

Composite: 28
English: 29
Math: 29
Reading: 27
Science: 25

Probably going to retake in October...

Is 28 a fairly solid score? Or what? All these 30+'s are scaring me

Adonalmao, it depends on where you want to apply. For the Ivy Leagues, a 30+ is a must....

how about just 30, will the ivy leagues or top cc colleges take a 30?

Not applying to Ivy Leagues. Looking at UC's as a California resident and a few random ones like Boston University or Whitman College

god damnit...another 32
34 E
35 M
28 R
29 S

when superscored with other test dates its a 33...
34 E
35 M
32 R
29 S

Argh, scores not available!

Is it like an alphabetical thing b/c my last name starts with a "V" and in June also, I had to wait till the third day to see my scores. I REALLY hope they're there tomorrow.

you guys up there sound like there's a definite score that makes one get into ivies.. it all depends on your stats..and obviously you should do "reasonably" well on ACT.

I agree with Dream. If you look at Brown for example, the middle 50% of the scores two years ago for ACT was 27-32, meaning that many many people who were accepted got <30 and I know two people who got a 36 and a 35 on the ACT last year who were rejected from Brown.

ACT/SAT scores are just one part of the application they look at. Essays are much much much more important in my opinion.

no...because my last name starts with a "W" and I got my scores 9 hours ago

i can officially say im a CC kid--->33 baby! i went up 4 composite points from april!

ACT Composite 33 (up 4!)
English 34 (up 3!)
Mathematics 35 (up 6! OMGGG)
Reading 34 (up 7! OMGGGGGGGGGGG)
Science 30 (stayed the same!)

f*** the SATs!!!! IM GOING TO COLLEGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
