That was my first try with minimal prep. I'm taking it again in October hoping for a 34 or 35!

i got a 34, thank you very much, and just by reading your post, you werent very clear. im glad you werent one of the writers of the reading passages, because you would make them so ambiguous.

its amazing that you got a 35, dont get me wrong. i signed up for the SATs, so that wasted $45, but i really dont care. i would rather pay the money than waste 5 hours of my life. i look at it like an insurance policy.

Ambiguous? There's nothing ambiguous about his post if you actually read it. I felt the same way - I spent money on a test I don't need to take again. And what does you getting a 34 have anything to do with it?

because he said that i probably got a 12 in the reading.

okay, how about we all stop attacking me? yea thanks.

"Got my scores this morning; 35 composite. I don't know WHETHER TO BE HAPPY THAT I GOT A 35( parenthetical addition) OR upset that I already threw down $50 to take the test again."

Apart from a few structural/usage mistakes in the first sentence, there is no abiguity in the post, but it sure gets very confusing due to that addition in parenthesis.

In the end, you cannot hold anyone accountable for misjudging whatever it is you said unless you use accurate punctuation and sentence structure, both of which were absent in your post. Anyways,I was bored, so please bear with me.

And to balance it off, your question was in fact precisely outrageously haughty JSB. Are you kidding me? A meager $50 will prevent you from being jubiliant about get such a high score? Had I gotten a 34, I would be delighted even if i had lost $1000.

That post shouldn't have been taken literally, either; I was completely stoked to get a 35, and just a little irked to waste $50.

I disagree with the point you are making, though, becase:

A) Money wasted is money wasted. I'd be happier with the $50 in my pocket than I am without it, no matter what you want to argue otherwise.

B) Just because you'd spend $1,000 to get a 34 doesn't mean everyone would. I wouldn't even pay $50 for a 36 because I could potentially get it for free at this point, seeing as I've already paid for the October test.

As a side note your post is perhaps the haughtiest in this thread because you call $50 "meager" in it. Not everyone is as wealthy as you apparently are.

Are you people getting yours in the mail yet, or is everyone here paranoid/anxious enough to have paid the extra $8?

the latter

I don't remember saying I would pay money for any score, but lets forget that already.

Can anyone tell me if a 30 is good (competitive) for public universites like UT and PSU?

Thanks.

Eek, I haven't had the chance yet to look at my ACT scores. I'm kind of scared. :(

I definitely need at least a 29, and would really hope for a 31 at least. If I get a 33 or higher though, I will be excited for life!

Just curious though...do the scores say how many questions you missed? I'd be interested to know how many questions you were able to miss on each section and still get a 30 at least.

No, mine didn't say how many questions I missed, and they don't provide the scale they use either. But they're all pretty consistent, usually within one or two questions of one another (if you look at a couple score conversions for practice tests).

I was pretty opposed to paying to see scores, but I gave in just this once.
