ONE MORE FRIGGIN' QUESTION!

I know, I know, but I got a 35 the first time and had to take it again for writing, so I was hoping 36.

OMG I know this is going to look kinda lame after the string of 36's posted here, but I am RIDICULOUSLY happy right now!!

Composite: 33
English: 33
Math: 34
Reading: 31
Science: 32

I mean OMFG, I am ALL in 31+, and Math and English are my highest scores...what more could I possibly ask for?

I now hope this can get me into University of Michigan or UCLA...unfortunately, my GPA isn't quite at this level. :-x

Confused_student-congrats on the awesome 33!! You'll definitely get into Umich...especially if you live in Michigan too..but still 33 is a definite :) Way to go!

I don't live in Michigan...but is a 33 going to really give me that kind of an advantage?

At any rate, I'm still going to put all my effort into my essays, and we'll see how it goes from there.

hey i think the essay scores are out online. Can someone verify this?

Yeah they're online. I wasted another $8 and got mine.

was it a big difference?

URGHH!!!!
34 Composite
33/35/33/33

8 ESSAY!! WT_F

(note: the "URG!!" was in response to teh essay, not the composite)

Meh, forget the essay.. I wouldn't dream of complaining with that composite. Besides, most top colleges put very little weight into the essay anyway, especially b/c it is so new. Congrats on the great score!

How did everyone do sooo well? The lowest I've seen posted is a 29. (Ironically, the score I'm hoping, praying and begging for this coming up Oct.) Was it easier? I've gotten a 27 two times so far. The second time everything went up but science plumated, or it would have been a 28. Anyway, any advice on how to raise two points? Lol.. generic question. Well, congrats to all of you - it looks like everyone did really, really well.

I think that, for the most part, ppl usually only post if they did well (or as they expected...depends on their definition of well). I think a 28+ is a great score for anyone (with the exception of the very top university applicants).

not really, i think my score of 30 sucked... omg got a 9 on that essay

31!!!!

clicking that submit button was so hard...

English - 32
Math - 30
Reading - 30 (up from 25 last June!)
Science - 30

COMPOSITE - 31!

they really should add an exclamation point to scores above 30...

so, on the official score report it says "your educational development is likely in the top tenth of ACT-tested students"..
do you think for kids who get like a 10 composite, they say "your educational development is likely in the lowest tenth of ACT-tested students"?????

and no, i did not get my score report for this test date, i'm referring to older reports.

madamebovary - well, that all depends on where you're applying.

My scores are like the ****tiest ever

Percentile: 90% national, 86% state (CA)
Composite: 27
English: 27
Math: 31
Reading: 23 :(
Science: 27

English with essay: 28 (essay score: 10)

English:34
Math:35
Reading:35
Science:25

(0_)

32 composite. Here's to a retake in october ^_^

Well, now I'm really ticked off.

I got a 33 on English, but because I got an 8 on the essay, my Writing/English combined is now a 30.

This whole essay thing in standardized testing is starting to really **** me off. The essay is the SOLE REASON why I didn't get an 800 on my June SAT for Writing (I got a 6 on the essay, 1 question wrong on the multiple choice). Now, after getting a very good English score that I thought could help me, it gets dragged down to a 30 because of the essay.

What kills me the most is that I'm one of the better writers at my school; it's just that I have very slow handwriting, and can barely even fill a page when doing the essay. This time, I managed to reach a page and a quarter, and I was starting to feel really excited, that maybe the ACT would give me the chance to show colleges I can write an essay.

But, nope. For whatever reason, I got an 8, and now the UC's will disregard the 33 I got on the multiple choice part of English, and will instead consider the 30 on my English/Writing. Now I'm not as sure about UCLA...

Does anyone know if University of Michigan considers the writing score?

34

32 english
35 math
34 reading
36 science

essay 8
combined writing/english 29...

hey so does ACT use the combined w/e score or just the english score for the composite?

Just the english.
