Thanks! I don’t practice, so last year’s AIME I was me sitting there going nowhere for the last hour or two…Hopefully, this year won’t be like that.

The cut off from the AMC 12A was a 94.5 and 115.5 for the AMC 10A. Is the cut off different for the 12B/10B? If not, then the 99 on the 12B qualifies you for the next round!

no, the cutoff does change from A to B (usually).
but i’m almost positive that a 99 will qualify on this test. it was brutal. :)

97.5 here. Predicting cutoff will be 93 or 94 this time.

Number 12 got me (D instead of E)…

94.5here Really worried about the cutoff.(Although B is harder than A, but almost all international students take B instead of A, that may increases the cutoff…)

here 99. 12B usually has higher cutoff than 12A, see 2011 from 93 to 97.5, 2010 88.5 for both, 2009 from 97.5 to 100, 2008 97.5 both, and 2007 from 97.5 to 100…
It worries me…GOOD LUCK to me and to you.

The highest score in my school was 88.5. Pretty sad. I got a 79.5, I should have studied.

does anyone know what the cutoff line for USAMO will be this year? do you think its gonna be lower cause the amcs were harder this year…

I am thinking the USAMO cutoff would be around 200-210.

Though I am aiming for a 220 just to be safe.

AMC 12B statistics our out, minus the top 5%. In general, the curve looks to have shifted 3 to 4.5 points higher, so I can estimate a cut-off of probably 97.5 to 98.5. Obviously, I’m not certain, but that seems to be the trend.

99 amc12b; 120 amc10b

Confirming above.

Click on your state and choose Honor_Roll.pdf for AMC 12B qualifiers. Not all tests are graded (supposedly), but the cutoffs have been established.

High 12B cutoff due to change on #12, giving D and E correct status.

Do you know when they’re going to post the “official” results for the AMC12B ?

I’m new to the AMC world, a prospective competitor.
I’m good at math, but I’m not sure how good you should be to compete. To give me an idea… about what is that average SATI math score of an AMC competitor? Thanks…

^ Depends because the ability of AMC competitors vary WIDELY. If you score an 800 or close to it (Like 1 or 2 questions wrong), then you MIGHT be able to do well on the AMC, but the tests are much different in terms of difficulty.

Are there any sample AMC tests online? I’d like to take one for kicks.

you should be able to find what you need here:

@leisha
i hazard that most people who score well on the AMC 10/12 will score 750+ on the SAT 1 - they are clearly capable of 800’s, but stupid mistakes do exist. a score of 800 does not correlate to any specific AMC score - the two tests are on greatly different levels.

That’s exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
