Official Amherst College Transfer Fall 2013 Thread

Thanks Dave, that’s good to know. Did you transfer to Amherst or did you enter as a freshman?

Just called the admission office and a lady told me that they are still unclear when they will release the decisions. And they will inform us through email a few days before the decisions are available on ACData.

Still unclear?!
They’re torturing me…

Considering that they released the decisions on May 9 last year, hopefully we will find out by the end of next week…

I called this morning and the woman told me, it IS supposed to be this week, but (as mentioned before) we will be receiving an email beforehand that will tell us when the decisions will be posted on ACData.

Thanks for the update!

@joeycalifornia
I transferred to Amherst last year.

guys… its out now!

Rejected…

I’m 0 and 2 right now. Amherst and Rice both rejected me. I’m starting to feel like I won’t get in anywhere…

3.62 from Emory with strong upward trend.
3.75 H.S. GPA, 23/297, full IB.
32 ACT.
Published writer, autodidactic polyglot, minister.

Congratulations though, guys.

Rejected but they accepted 13/470, so really, I can’t complain.

now I have to choose between Berkeley and Cornell… decisions, decisions…

I’m tired of seeing “I regret to inform you…”

Did anyone get in? I got my Amherst rejection letter this morning…

I got accepted but I am not so sure if I wanna go.
:confused:
Uhhh :

@Dave how do you like Amherst?

@sleepytransfer congrats! it has always been my dream school :(

Rejected – letter said if I want to apply in future, I have to do entire common app again. Did other rejection letters say the same thing?
Wondering also if any transfer applicants were waitlisted this year?

sleepytransfer, do you know where to find info about our financial aid?

Amherst can be a lot of work, but I don’t regret my choice at all. The accessibility and enthusiasm of the professors alone would have been enough to draw me here. The social life leaves much to be desired, but I suppose that is to be expected with the course load.

sleepytransfer,
I received your PM, but cannot respond due to site constraints regarding minimum posting requirements. If you want to send me a PM with your email, I’ll be happy to answer any of your questions.

In my later, it was noted that I could call the financial aid office and ask them. So, I called them yesterday and they told me, that it was still under review.

@Dave
Thanks, I will pm you my email.

@Dave15 - what don’t you like about the social life?
