That is a very interesting and nerve-wrecking link.
12% acceptance rate? Come on... And it's even lower for intels.
Well, we'll see how it goes in two months.

Can we post about something that's not admissions? We were doing fine before... anyone a soccer fan?

Wow, that's amazing, considering the admit rate was 19% last year. And if they're going to review about 600 more applicants than Williams and still have a smaller class size, I suppose Amherst will be the school with the lower admit rate this year. Oooh, scandalous. =p

^ exactly. Who really knows how admissions will handle it? I guess there's no point in getting too worried... Glad I'm the only one applying from my school, though...

Well, both, though I don't expect an EW. I am not competing against anyone from my school which is good because AC wants each class to represent as many high schools as possible.

Haha. I'm sure you have more going for you than your nationality. And besides, even 1 or 2 other Nepalese students still means they're pretty rare, so that might still make you attractive to them for that reason.

As hard as this is, and as bad as I am at taking my own advice, I would try not to worry about how many Nepalese (or any nationality) applied. It, like the rest of the process (at this pt.) is beyond your control.

^^ LOL I was just joking. I am one of those who do not care about how many fellow countrymen applied, though that is not really apparent from my posts.:)

Yeah thats the spirit, who gives a damn about who applied where.

And skunk, I have news. Amherst's dean of admissions had visited Nepal for the first time in December. I believe she went back in January. If she liked this place, your chances are really high. And even if she didn't like this place, your chances are pretty high all the same, considerig your near perfect SATs.
