Since we've declared that many CC'ers will indeed be taking this course next year, and we've gotten plentiful of advice from veterans of the course, I figured it'd be time to make it.

Now, I am not the strongest in science, let alone bio, so I figured this would be good, at least for me.

This was by far my favorite class ever. I took it this year and just the challenge and the love my teacher had for what she was teaching made me love the class. It will off course vary depending on your teacher, some teachers are a bit careless and in most cases do not do all the labs, and all the chapters, so you must do some self-study. I recommend for you to get your teachers syllabus since they should have gave it to you before summer for you too look over, and look for the chapters and topics not covered, from their look over those chapters a bit early and device a study plan!

My teacher has it online, although there was no summer work assigned. I plan to do some reviewing on cells and genetics, which are not really so interesting to me, but I’ll force myself to like it, haha. I also plan to cover the ecology chapter on my own.

Let’s do this guys!

I’m through wit biochemistry, which was easy, I like the material scope a lot thus far.

Ahhh yeaaa let’s do this :).

No summer work here either. I feel very confident about my teacher, I had her for Regents and she was excellent. Plus, Bio is less math and more memorization. I have an excellent memory so I’m not too worried about this course :)

So I’m a senior, and I decided to take AP Chem my junior year with the knowledge that concepts in AP Chem (like bonding and thermodynamics) would appear in AP Bio. The course of science studies should be Physics —> Chem —> Bio, but my school is weird and totally reverses the curriculum, meaning that I was a weird guy in my school for deciding to take AP Chem early on…anybody in the same situation, or are we all sophs/juniors taking AP Bio?

^^ Me too! I’m also a senior taking AP Bio and I took AP Chem as a junior. A lot of my classmates are doing the same thing.

Unfortunatley, I’m HAVE to take AP Bio as a Sophmore. I took Chem as a freshmen, and since ap bio is considered the easiest’s of the sciences i have to take that class so I can skipp over the regular sciences classes and do AP’s…If that makes sense…I’m not good at explaining >.<

i will be self studying this :)

Isn’t collegeboard changing the format? Do you think it will be easier or harder this year?

My teacher had us get a book from the same company (Campbell) except that ours is called instead of “Biology”, “Biology Concepts and Connections”. The company also has “Essential Biology”.

[The Campbell Place](http://www.campbellbiology.com/)

I’m not sure what the difference is between the books, I would guess that Essential Biology isn’t for AP, probably regular, I’ll update if I find out.

CB is changing the format, but that doesn’t pertain to anyone taking the AP Bio test in 2012.

The change is coming to the 2013 test.

We don’t get the changes :(

Be sure to shop around for textbook prices, they fluctuate a lot. You can also track the prices for Campbell Biology at [Campbell Biology Price Search](http://campbellbiologybook.com). Be sure to get the 9th edition so you can sell it back for top dollar when you’re done.

^^ Why’d you need the book if you have the downloadable chapters here? If you’re self studying, wouldn’t you be somewhat near a computer? Pls explain to me, im pretty dumb :)
