*******Official AP Biology Thread 2013-2014*******

Was #1 really necessary? :frowning: Way to ask about something my teacher never mentioned.

MC was equal difficulty to released stuff. Prob got 80%MC. FR was easy if you know your stuff I guess
#1 drew 3 bell curves at first because I had no idea what they were talking about
Fixed it lated because #4 had what I assumed was the kind of plot they wanted for #1. lol BS’d part D, #1 too. #2 was an easy 10. Did good on 3,4,7,8 too. 5 &6 were filled with fillers :stuck_out_tongue:
prob. 55% FR so
4?

I have a horrible feeling I failed. After taking what was released of the 2013 test, I was confident as I only missed 6 MC and 3 points on the FRQ. But after taking this test, I was strapped for time, and left 2 grid in and 1 mc blank. I also know I got a 0 on the two 3 point short answer. Felt okay about the rest of the FRQ’s. I have literally no idea how I did. I could have gotten anywhere from a 2-5. My life

@pretzel729‌ I feel the same as you, maybe around 70-75% on the multiple choice, and I most likely nearly perfect scored FRQs. To me it was easy. 5 and 6 were probably the worst as you said, but I still feel I did well on them.

I was strapped for time on the FRQs after puzzling so long on #1. I had to rush 6-8 so I might not get that many points. MC was a lot easier for me, so I’m relying on that score to pull me through ;;

What do you think the curve will be this year to get a five ?

@Kitsyxoxo Either College board is going to be horrible and maintain the harsh curve of last year, or they will realize that these FRQ’s were significantly more difficult than last year’s and lower the curve. Last year you had to get 79% on the MC and 76% on the FRQ’s hope

@Kitsyxoxo Probably close to last year’s curve :(

FRQ 1 was basically 3 bar graphs with error bars of 2 SD. The second part of that was asking which two populations are statistically significant and it was those that didn’t have their error bars overlap, because the mean are within that 95% confidence range, so if their aren’t in that range, they are statistically significant. If you took AP Stats you’ll understand this as it’s the same as the p-value confidence intervals and hypothesis tests.

Oh great, so I got 0/10 probably lmao.

at my school there were 2 versions, D and O. D was the experimental version, O was the real version. version D will have a more lenient curve than O, but version D was harder, especially the free response portion.

I got O, then. Are you saying there were FRQs even harder than O omg

wait
international test taker here. Was question 1 about population and its significance? I cannot remember. Do domestic & internationals have different exams?
Plus, how many sentences did you guys write for each sub question? (a, b, c)

you know how collegeboard releases the FRQ after a few days?
i took the ap lit exam and checked the released frq but i found out that they released the version that i didn’t take. I took the international one so they probably only released the domestic one
why don’t thye release both versions? i wanna see the ap bio frq questions for international version and check my answers

Hey I wondering when you receive your score do you get to see how many points you scored on the test ? Also will you get to see how many points you lost in section 1 and in section 2?

@kitsyxoxo No, all you will see is a 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.

Thank you :slight_smile: @bananacreamdream

shoot, i totally screwed up MC, I got to the polar bear question when time was called, so I bubbled in random bubbles for the 5+ questions I didn’t have time to answer :frowning:

(luckily I did grid ins first and hopefully got all 6 right)

FRQs were kind of open ended, so I have no idea how I did but I answered everything

i was hoping for a 5 but it doesn’t seem likely, oh well

@caligirl2781‌ is version D the one with enzymes, speciation, mutation and stuff? cuz i got that too
is the curve more lenient for that one? was this the harder one?
