Official AP Calculus Thread for 2009

gotta think positive =]

No AB doesn’t have series/vector/parametric/polar at all

The Ap BC calc test will be a cake walk.

Multiple choice is pretty easy, and you can usually get high enough on that to still be able to bomb the free response questions and till pull off a 5.

^not really, unless bombing means getting 30+ pts on FRQ

how isthe calculator MC section weighted against the non calculator? Do the questions have the same weight (noncalc has 28 questions and calc has 17)

Yes, same weightage.

The curve for BC calc for a 5 is about 60 to 65%

I usually get 75-80% of the MC questions right, meaning I would only have to get roughly 40% of the possible points of the free response questions right, or about 22 - 25 points for a 5.

How long is the BC test?

http://ww2.wyomingcityschools.org/~harmsm/ap%20central%20practice%20bc%20exam/college%20board%20bc%20practice%20exam.pdf

that better be harder then the real exam or I’m so ****ed. been getting 80% on the PR tests, and 40% on that.

whats the formula to find the raw score?

whats the curve for AB?

65% or so for a 5. Does anyone know if that audit is about on par, seems so much harder then anything I have done before

how many MC’s do i need to get for a 5 for AB if i got like a 55-60% on the FR part

60-65%

10chars

Jenova, I heard that Audits are around 5~7 points harder than the real exams.

Woo! Just did the free response questions from 2005, which were a bit challenging as they had a polar problem on there. I got about a 68% on that, and seeing as I usually get 75-80% on MC, I’m set for a 5, I hope. :)

so it’s like 45 MC’s * 60-65%= 25-28 MC’s?

can anyone comment on how accurate the “Be Prepared” exams are

Someone please explain lagrange error to me

ahhhhhhhh

Also my calc teacher gave us this site that calculates what score you would get.

http://tech-shep.com/Calculate/APCalcGrade.php

I’m not sure what curve this is based on but it should be pretty accurate.

sigh…

I’m bad at math, and I dont know how I made this far to AP calculus.

I think the MC is really hard and FR is relaly hard too…

cuz u have to apply urself into the question, and I’m an ESL student, so sometimes the wording is really weird to me…

good luck everybody!

i think I’m gonna get a 2…:-(
