**OFFICIAL** AP Chemistry 2014 Thread

College Board released a practice exam in line with the new format. Some teachers don’t know how/ didn’t put in the effort to get it.

This is correct.

Colors seem to have been deemphasized.

The MC has more questions in which data is given and you answer questions based on the data. Overall, I feel the exam takes on a more conceptual feel.

@persianpwr it was a mock exam provided by College Board to AP chemitstry teachers, there are sample questions from that very exam on page 119 of this link http://media.collegeboard.com/digitalServices/pdf/ap/IN120085263_ChemistryCED_Effective_Fall_2013_lkd.pdf</a></p>

Posting this again for those who didn’t see http://media.collegeboard.com/digitalServices/pdf/ap/IN120085263_ChemistryCED_Effective_Fall_2013_lkd.pdf</a></p>

btw guys do we have to write our answers in scientific notation?

for sigfigs , I know there are separate rules for addition/multiplication but what if a process contains both, which rule takes precedence

just use 3 sig figs, thats whut my teacher said

So I know they’re taking a bunch of equations off of the equations sheet. Does this mean those equations taken off will not need to be used in solving problems? Or will we just need to know them off the top of our head?

could somebody please pm me the 2014 practice ap test. Would really appreciate it! Desperate!!

If anyone could pm me the new practice test it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

could anyone just post a link to the practice test. plox

Yeah. Someone just post the link to the practice test. The old link is not working anymore.

do we have to know quantum numbers???

fionam we need to know what they stand for but we do not need to know how to assign them
Personally I feel quantum numbers are one of the easier things in chem and wouldn’t mind seeing a question with them
My concern is if we have to memorize precipitate colors

im pretty sure we don’t… Does anybody know what energy vs interparticle separation diagrams are? I remember that name but I cant remeberr what it is ?

to everybody asking for a link, http://media.collegeboard.com/digitalServices/pdf/ap/IN120085263_ChemistryCED_Effective_Fall_2013_lkd.pdf</a> pages 118 to 143 is the official collegeboard practice, and <a href=“Barron's Online Test Preparation for AP Exams”>http://barronsbooks.com/ap/chem/</a> is really great too.

Also, Does anybody know what energy vs interparticle separation diagrams are???

Anyone want some labs?
<a href=“My Files”>My Files;

Ugh I hate the feeling you get when you feel like you know all the topics but still feel so unprepared…what more is there to study??

I also need the new practice test! Please PM if you have it!

The labs link got taken down pretty quickly. Guess it’s not allowed.

is the practice test fionam has the link for the one that was released with the new curriculum or is this a shortened one

Also could anyone the labs that could be on the test? I think there are 16?

This guy has been saving my butt. He covers the topics by the collegeboard essentials. He’s very conceptual based as well. Hope this helps out!
