Average time of self-studying this? I’m studying A-Level as an international student and decided to take WH, Physics C, and Human Geography next year, so will the addition of ES seem to much? Cause I’ve also got to prepare for the AS exam next year.

I can only buy one review book for this class due to money and the fact that I’m taking 2-3 other exams. Would you recommend PR or Crash Course?

Hey guys I know this thread is really old, but I’m planning on self-studying this for my freshman year. My school does offer this class, but it’s for juniors and seniors From what I’ve heard, it’s one of the easiest APs, so I think I should be able to handle it. I was wondering if I could still get a 5 by just studying a review book.

Anyone have any mc resources? I found one from 1994 or something on College Board; as well as the released practice one (official too), but need more.

While it’s a reasonably easy AP, I’d still suggest taking the class if it’s offered at your school. It’s a great class, depending on the teacher of course. Some concepts can be difficult to understand but it’s not impossible to self study

Hey guys! This year, I’m taking both the AP Chem and APES exams. I feel that I’m more prepared for APES than for AP Chem, but I’m not sure how hard the AP Chem alternate exam is gonna be this year. Do you think I should take AP Chem first (and do late testing for APES) or vice versa? Thanks in advance for your advice!

Are the alternate exams usually harder? That seems like it would be a little bit unfair even though you do get a week more to study. I would say take APES first and save Chem but I don’t have any experience in taking late exams.

I’m taking the Chem first… I had no choice and it sucks because Chem is way harder :-S

The alternate exams are slightly harder as they use weirder questions (IMO) and the scale is based only on the people who take it late, not the previous test-takers that year.

And for the review book I’d recommend the PR since the Barron’s has too much detail, and it isn’t brief and concise enough.

@savethetrees they have a 2008 released MC exam… Just google it and there should be a copy.

I’m taking APES late also. I haven’t even started studying and we took a practice exam and I got 84% on the multiple choice, so I’m not too worried about it, but it kinda scares me that the makeup is supposed to be harder. But I think it’s better than taking Chem late.

Why are there barely any MC practice tests from past years ? Are there any other released MCQ other than 1998 and 2008 ? The exam is in 2 days and im freaaakinggg out. I took it self study this year and our school provided us with a book that i dont feel covers enough of the topics. Im trying to do as many practice tests as possible… :-S Good luck to those doing it on the 5th ! :-)

Doing this exact method! Today I just took SATUSH, and now I’m getting down to Monday’s AP Enviro.

I’ve read Smarty Pants and read about 60 pages of Princeton Review so far. SmartyPants is a great little introduction, fun and easy to read, but doesn’t go as deep as Princeton.

Tonight I’ll read all of Princeton. Tomorrow I’ll cram in Crash Course Enviro, practice an AP, and cram in Crash Course again at the end of the day.

I’m a slow reader, though. Hopefully I’ll manage! Feeling excited and nervous.

So first of all Good luck to everyone who is taking the exam tomorrow!! I’m a sophomore and I have survived the class thank god. Last year only one student in my school got a 5 on the exam So what FRQs do you think there will be?
