Official AP Euro '11 Thread

Yeah, AFAIK = as far as I know.
What do you guys think on the curve? The 2004 test had a 121 for the cutoff - and this was BEFORE the penalty for guessing. I’m scared. Though, in 7 years AP has expanded a lot from just the elite/better schools to the not so great ones, this might compensate for the lack of a penalty for guessing.

@SuperCuber

I’m pretty sure the curve this year will be brutal. Having no penalty for guessing is gonna give a whole lot of people a bunch of points, so I think it’ll be around 126-30 :(

And does anyone know when you can start calling for scores?

I was super worried about the curve as well :frowning: This makes me terribly sad :frowning: Should have taken this last year! Ahhh :’(

This is a weird place to ask, but I know some of you are going to be checking this thread every now and then anyways, so…

I registered for an SAT II in a location that’s far away before I heard about standby testing. I want to just walk into the nearest high school and take it there, since that would be much more convenient on test day.

Some questions:

 1. I already registered but don’t plan to change the location or any other info by the “late” deadline because chances are, no other remaining high school would be even closer to me anyway. Would I have to do some extra paperwork for standby? I’m referring to the registration form that I supposedly have to get from my school office ([How To Register for the SAT](http://sat.collegeboard.com/register/how-to-register?fmExpandStandBy=yes#standbyRegistrationHeader)).

 2. Would I only have to pay the standby fee on test day since I already registered, although for a different school, today?

 3. How much earlier should I arrive, based on others’ past experiences with standby testing?

 4. Do I have to call in advance or something?

Sorry, I just want to get all these worries out of the way. Thanks!

Yeah I’m personally really mad that there’s no penalty for guessing anymore. I guess I’m freaking unnecessarily out about Euro since it’s my best subject and getting a 4 on it would really hurt, but in Chem and Lang, the MC I really need those points - and now everyone else will be doing better. WHY, COLLEGE BOARD, WHY?

Curve will be around 119-180 for a 5.

CollegeBoard put an estimated adjusted scale for all AP tests. Dig around CB/AP Central and you’ll find it. Curve is probably going to be around that.

^Just google “ap exam multiple choice worksheet.”

is the 48 hour rule up? I think so.

^I guess…

Not quite; we have to wait until 12.

^ ur right

now it’s officially over

So, not that we haven’t been discussing essays up until now, but how’d you guys like the DBQ?

I found it easy but I love Elizabeth I so I knew a lot of information. My groups were eh… but I think I made it up with my examples of bias and outside info.

Yeah, I love Elizabeth as well so I had allot to write about.

This is the approximate adjusted curve for this year:
[AP Pass - AP Euro Calculator](AP European History Test Score Calculator - AP Pass)

Hey for the DBQ I didn’t think outside information played that much of a part in score.

Well, I discuss the Act of Supremacy and why it was implemented, I discussed why their was a great deal of chauvinism in society (and how it would then lead virtually to the Witch Hunts), and I also discussed the role of a politique and how it also applies to Henry IV of France, one of them hopefully can be considered OSI…

Does anyone know how they got the new curve?
It didn’t change very much did it? I remember before it was 118+ for a 5, now it’s 119.

I’m a bit nervous for the new curve. Do they set the score for 5’s before the test or after it’s given? Because if it’s still around 119 I think I’ll be fine since I usually am above that but if it’s 130 or something I might be in more of a pickle.
