***Official AP European History Thread 2015***

Hey guys! I was wondering if you think this is a valid grouping for the DBQ: (I’m just being paranoid about my score but I really want to know what others think)

So do the graders usually consider a body paragraph in the DBQ a “group” for their grading purposes? I had two sets of two groups each in the DBQ: political and economic trends early in the time period and social and cultural trends late in the time period. However, I only gave each “set” of two groups their own paragraph so I had only two body paragraphs. However, I made sure to discuss all of the social ones first and then all of the cultural ones so I think that the reader would see that that is a group in a group…

Do you think that that will count as three valid groups…or will they think that there are only two? I’m really worried! :((

I thought the MC was reasonably difficult but not too hard at all. I don’t think I missed any more than 15. The last ten questions in particular contained a few tough ones for me. The DBQ was kind of difficult for me to group documents, but I overall it wasn’t too bad. FRQs were pretty awesome actually. I did number 3 since I’m an expert on Marxism and all things Communist and number 7 since I know quite a bit about Scientific Revolution and Enlightenment.

For the DBQ, my groupings were conservative/nationalist attitudes towards culture, liberal/progressive attitudes towards culture, and views on immigration. Do you guys think those groupings are okay? If so, I think I got at least a 7 on the DBQ.

It doesn’t matter based on paragraphs. If so, I’d be done for because my paragraphing was a mess. It takes at least two documents that you use for a similar purpose to create a group. you can have social and cultural in the same paragraph as long as they’re distinct in being different groups. For example, I did a group on cultural conceptions with subgroups of ideas about language and ones on the “common culture” from globalization Along with a national identity paragraph that dealt with docs about immigrants and their sense of being French. Ultimately, your number of paragraphs doesn’t matter. It’s just how you use the docs

Thank you thank you! I did have at least two in each of my groups and I’m sure I referenced all of the documents correctly

On prompt 3, how did you attack it? I did it from an economic and political standpoint. I said, economically, they followed marxs policies of equality within the workers and social classes, but, because of the political corruption, the means of production were more controlled by the state (i.e. stalin) than the workers like Marx wanted. So, basically, economically like marx, politically very different lol. How’d you answer it?

@cdserio99 I basically had the same groups

Ya the last few questions were pretty difficult, don’t want to mention specifics but i read through the crash course on the cold war stuff and still didn’t really understand. The only released exam i could find was the 2004 which i thought was a lot more easier than this test. Also the cool thing is we are the last group of testers to ever take the old AP euro exam, new one is coming next year

me too!

crash course did not help on the last few

The MC was harder than the practice one I took and I didn’t review a section at all nor did I do my assigned readings the end chapters, which really hurt me towards the end. The DBQ was difficult for me to group and I spent more time than recommended on that. For the FRQs, I did 4 and 6. I did 4 after doing 6, which I think I did okay on, but I only had 15 minutes to do 6. I was completely lost until I recalled something. I wish my essays were more organized, but I think I got at most a 3.

Neither did woman’s rights

well at least its over now

Yeah…I’m hoping the curve’ll be nice this year, and judging by the responses here it seems that it might be…but can’t assume anything I guess

hope so…but the 8% 5 rate last year isn’t encouraging

well…bio up next on monday for me

I hate having to wait until July to find out how I did :((

@guanlinzhou Same…

You could always get your score earlier by calling them and paying a few extra bucks lol

@chienzhouzz do you have the same last name as me?

The DBQ was really hard to group. I also spent 20 minutes grouping.
